Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam 新東方咖啡店 @ Taman Paramount
It wasn’t our initial plan to visit Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam (STH) because the restaurant that we wanted to go was not yet open, blamed the person who didn’t check the business hour properly. (-‸ლ) However, this was not an entirely unfortunate incident because Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam that recommended by my friend is located in the nearby neighbourhood, so we made a beeline for it.
Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam is one of the many modern style Kopitiams that sprouting up recently over the Klang Valley. The ground floor dining area is spacious and aglow with natural light. Potted and drapery plants add coziness to the ambience.
There are more seating on the upstairs.
Story of STH. Takes pride in their homemade noodle, there are assorted of noodle dishes dominate the menu included dry noodle served with dry mutton curry (RM16.90), Prawn WOntons (RM12.90), as well as soup noodle served with various of broths such as Curry Mee (RM13.90) and Prawn Wontons with Mala Soup (RM12.90), just to name a few.
Rice worshippers can get Nasi Lemak with different dishes (RM14.90-RM16.90), Hainanese Chicken Rice (RM13.90) and Mutton Curry Rice (RM16.90) here. There are also a list of snacks, breads, toasts and good selection of beverages, ranging from coffees, fruit teas and even fizzy fruit mix.
STH Trio (RM6.50)
The drink combines coffee, teh (tea) and Milo.
Hainan Toast (RM3.50)
Well toasted bread decently filled with butter and Kaya.
Signature Cucur Udang (RM2.90)
The prawn fritter was generously studded with tiny prawns, but the flavour and texture weren’t up to my expectation. It was slightly greasy and not as crispy as I would have hoped.
Signature Prawn Mee (RM13.90)
The signature homemade noodle is pleasantly springy, submerged in a robust tasting prawn broth. There are fresh Tiger Prawns (stated in menu), shredded chicken, hard boiled egg. water spinach and bean sprouts to complete the dish.
Signature Handmade Noodles with Dry Curry Chicken (RM12.90)
Portion was generous, there were three sizeable chicken meat and a small chunk of soft potato, as well as the toothsome crunchy fried fish sticks. Although the curry tasted predominantly of curry powder, the flavour was rather tasty, I reckon.
Verdict: Sin Tong Hong unquestionably a good place to head to for some hearty local delights, with very affordable price tag. No wonder the place was teeming with patrons in the entire time we were there.

The prawn mee broth looks robust. I don’t think I’ve ever had prawn mee with handmade noodles (other than with a ombo of meehoon + yellow mee). Seems a bit unconventional to me…made me think of eating Maggi curry with egg noodles…lol.
Kris, since l like the texture of the handmade noodles, I’m totally okay with it to be served with the prawn mee soup.
Wah that prawn mee & cucur udang really looks good!
KY, there are good reviews on the cucur udang, but it didn’t impress me, maybe I’m not lucky that day to get a not-so-good batch. >_<
The interior of this kopitiam looks very nice and clean. Since the food is also good, that’s a winning combo. For sure can revisit.
PH, very comfortable dining environment indeed.
