Sugar and I @ TTDI, K.L

After our Nasi Lemak breakfast, we strolled around the neighbourhood and were attracted by something in the display counter in a cafe next to Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu, TTDI 1. I made a beeline for it instinctively and the “magnet” that intrigued me was nothing but an array of adorable looking Bombolonis.

Look at these, the sweet monster in me was begging for a sweet moment. (♥ω♥*)

Three brands under one roof – Big Boss HSP (it was closed during my visit), Sugar & I, and Koppiku, with simple indoor and outdoor seating. I assume majority customers are just grab and go.

Sugar & I menu – There are Bomboloni in regular and mini size, cream puffs, brownies and cinnamon rolls. Read what is Bomboloni HERE

Koppiku menu.

Different enchanting flavours for both regular and mini Bombolonis. They were so irresistible for me, I was in dilemma, which flavours to pick and of course I wish I can try out all of them but they aren’t cheap after all…… ╥﹏╥

Mini Bomboloni (RM28.00 – 6pcs)

In the end, I got a box of 6 pieces mini Bomboloni which I can have chance to try all the flavours.

The Bomboloni was soft, fluffy and airy, lightly dusted with icing sugar on the outer. I was expecting they were jam-packed with filling, however I was slapped with disappointment. The filling was scarce which made the experience short of satisfaction.

Verdict: Although the mini Bomboloni didn’t quite live up to my expectation, I’ll likely give it another shot, perhaps to try the  Bomboloni in regular size on next visit.

  • I love doughnuts…even just the simple one (how I wish I can eat them)…haiz! T_T These bombolonis are like a cross between a doughnut and cream puff. I’m actually one of those (some would call insane) who likes one that has not much filling in it, so I’d be happy with these. I enjoy cream puffs but most of the time find that there’s too much creme patisserie in them (too much very jelak) and wished for less. Since the bomboloni was mini size, maybe that’s why there’s not much filling. Hmmm, close to RM5 for a tiny bomboloni is pricey, imagine what a full size one will cost. >.<

  • Kris, I love cream, the more the merrier, so I’m big fan of old school cake with thick cream topping, haha! The price for a piece of regular size Bomboloni is RM7.80, it’s cheaper if buy more.
