Yen Can Cook ~ Dark Soy Sauce Siew Yoke
My mom gave me some roasted pork (Siew Yoke) from the recently Ching Ming prayer and this dish immediately came into my mind ~ Stir Fried Dark Soy Sauce Siew Yoke. By adding just a few simple ingredients such as dark soy sauce, sugar, garlic or even dried chilies, the flavour of the roasted pork will be elevated a few notches! My version is the simplest one with only dark soy sauce and sugar, let’s check it out!
Ingredients (Serve: 3-4)
300g roasted pork
2 teaspoons dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
Cooking oil
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Heat up cooking oil in a wok, add in the roast pork and pan fry until both sides are slightly browned.
Step 2: Add in dark soy sauce and sugar, stir fry until the roasted pork are evenly coated with the sauce. Continue to stir fry until caramelized.
Step 3: Serve.
HAPPY COOKING! #stayhealthy
When I saw your post title, I thought you were making siew yoke from scratch. Ya, some of the more common and simpler recipes we can make with ready-made siew yoke (bought from the wet market) will be the one you cooked here (with dark soy) or stir-fried with leeks. Siew chow stalls will stir-fry them with choy sum. ^_~
Kris, here’s the link of my Siew Yoke recipe
Actually I seldom (or never?) buy Siew Yoke from market, but definitely would like to try out the other two recipes that you mentioned if I have leftover Siew Yoke again.
Looks good and tender. Would be great to be eaten together with white rice. ;d
Tekkaus, indeed pairs well with rice 🙂
I never thought of cooking siew yoke like that. I think it is a good way to use up any leftover siew yoke. Simple and good, I like!
PH, glad that you like this recipe.
Made the same thing too but sometimes I’ll add cili padi.
KY, spicy version would be more appetizing but unfortunately Sam still can’t take too spicy food.
