Yen Can Cook ~ Mixed Berries Smoothie

Another purchase from FB live seller ~ Frozen mixed berries. ٩(^ᴗ^)∨ What’s the best and easiest way to use it up? Smoothie is the first thing spring to mind. Frozen fruits are certainly a better choice when comes to make a smoothie drink. They gave a thicker consistency for your smoothie if compared with fresh fruits and one can enjoy the really cold smoothie immediately after blending.

Other than fruits, thickener and liquid also an important components to decide the flavours of your smoothie. I used plain yogurt as my thickener, Greek yogurt, peanut butter and almond butter are good option too. The easily obtained milk (full cream/low fat) was my choice of liquid for my mixed berries smoothie. If you’re adventurous enough, do try out almond milk for extra nutty flavor or coconut milk for a richer and creamier finish. Fruit juice also work well.

Other ingredients such as kale or spinach can be added too for additional nutrition. Fresh peppermint, vanilla extract, cinnamon, or honey will take any smoothie to the next level.

300g mixed berries

350ml full cream milk

160ml plain yogurt

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
