Yen Can Cook ~ Pear, Snow Fungus & Peach Gum Dessert
Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) Day 4, How’s everyone?
It’s a very hard time for everyone included myself as my company was closed for 2 weeks and there will be salary deduction too. The same thing was happened during the last MCO1.0 which my pay was cut for a few months.
But anyway life must go on, right?
Today I’m going to share a quick and easy Tong Sui (Chinese dessert soup) cooked with snow pear, snow fungus and peach gum. The dessert has strengthening and beauty-boosting properties which is suitable for the whole family.
Ingredients (Serve: 3-4)
20g peach gum (can be purchased from Chinese medicine shop)
2 snow pears, peeled & cut into wedges
15g snow fungus/white fungus
8 – 10 red dates, clean and pitted
10g dried longan
60g rock sugar or to taste
1500ml water
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Soak peach gum in clean water for overnight until soften. Pick and remove the dirt and impurities.
Step 2: Soak snow fungus in water until soft. Rinse and cut into smaller pieces. Set aside.
Step 3: In a pot, bring the water to boil, add in snow pear, snow fungus (Step 2), red dates and dried longan.
Step 4: Turn to low heat and continue to cook for 20 to 25 minutes. Add in peach gum and cook for another 10 minutes then add rock sugar to taste.
Step 4: Serve hot or chilled.
Wow! Your dessert is so deliiiiicious!!! I wish I could eat them right now. I love the taste very much.
I am not under EMCO but it is no difference as we are sandwiched & overlapping with EMCO. Same thing. You got pay cut and I got no pay! Hahaha (still can laff) So depressing.
TM, let’s hope we all can go through this hard time and back to normal life soon.
I want your dessert cold from the fridge. It will be very soothing for my throat! My company has been closed since 01-06-2021. Dunno this month can pay salary or not. LOL!
PH, I like it cold also 🙂
This will be really refreshing and invigorating especially when we are too tired working from home.
