Yen Can Cook: Steamed Pork Ribs with Bean Paste
Pork ribs is my favourite porcine part and I always keep some in my fridge.This steamed pork ribs is one of the easiest way to prepare the ribs and the ingredients needed are very simple. (Refer HERE for another pork ribs recipe)
Ingredients
300g pork ribs
Marinade
2 cloves of garlic
1 thumb-sized ginger
1.5 tablespoons fermented bean paste (tauchu)
1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce
1/2 tablespoon Shaoxing Wine
1 tablespoon water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon corn flour
Pinch of salt & pepper
Chili (optional)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Step 1: Put the pork ribs into a pot of water and bring to a boil, to remove blood and impurities. Remove, drain and set aside.
Step 2: In a bowl mix all the marinade ingredients, add pork ribs and mix well until all the pork ribs are evenly coated with the mixture. Set aside for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3: In a wok, bring water to a boil then place the marinated pork ribs in the steamer and steam over middle high heat for 25 minutes or until cooked.
Step 4: Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve.
HAPPY COOKING!
Looks yummy! 很好配饭呢!
咸咸的,配饭真的一流,要加饭,哈哈!
Looks yummy. You use so many ingredients. I use just the basic – tauchu, garlic, ginger and chili. That’s all. lazy me 😀
I used to cook with simple ingredients as per you mentioned but it was a lil too bland for me 😛
This looks delicious! I should give it a try one of these days, hopefully!
Good luck and wish u a successful attempt!
LOVE THIS!!! end up eating too much rice with the sauce though:P
Ya, that’s the problem >_<
this is my grandmother’s favourite pork part too, so she would love your recipe! 🙂
Please share with her if she never cook this before 🙂
You are such a good cook! I could eat 2 plates full of rice with this ribs.
Paiseh, just normal homecook dishes for my family~~ Thanks for your compliment anyway 🙂
The dish looks good but how did you get that nice orangy hue? I thought tomato sauce was part of the marinade as tauchu (as I know) usually comes off more brownish in colour.
This I put some leftover pumpkin under the pork ribs, so the orangy hue I think 😛
I think it goes well with rice but since its pork, i’d give it a pass 😛
Why lah, also ban my dish >_<
Lovely stuff. Food like this is what I really crave – home cooked Chinese dishes. I can eat several bowls of rice with this alone.
You are right Huai Bin, the sauce is lovely, goes well with rice.
I am also a long time user of AFF and find it to be absolutely frustrating to use. The interface is designed more for the casual curiosity seeker rather than the serious researcher. I cannot wait to get my hands on Nielsen/Claritas so that I can kiss this hulking waste of tax dollars goodbye.
