Imperial Pot @ Publika
Still remember my breakfast series? Ok, it’s my fault if you can’t remember as I abandoned it quite a while but….I promised I’ll resume to post more breakfast/brunch place I’ve tried all these while 😛 *in very determined mode* Let’s continue, shall we?
The sisters wanted to try out new dim sum place instead of the usual one we frequented and Imperial Pot was our option. Located at Solaris Dutamas (Publika), Imperial Pot serves Hong Kong style dim sum with some rice and noodle dishes also dominated the menu.
Chinese Tea (Price ranging from RM 5.00 ~ RM 25.00 / pot)
Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao (RM 8.80)
Xiao Long Bao with a twist! Encasing within was the warm mild flavored bak kut teh broth and patty of minced pork. Being one of their signature dish, it definitely score point for the novelty but the taste however didn’t manage to tickle my tastebud 🙁
Zha Liong (RM 6.80)
Quite rare dish to find this at most of the dim sum joints at Klang Valley, it’s actually crispy fried Chinese cruller (yau zha guai) wrapped with steamed rice sheet and Imperial Pot’s version was topped with meat floss. It was good with the contrasting texture of silky smooth rice sheet and the superbly crispy cruller.
Enoki Mushroom Wrapped in Bacon (RM 6.80)
The saltiness of the bacon complemented both the enoki mushroom and minced meat wrapped within, pretty good stuff!
Deep Fried Prawn Dumpling (RM 4.80)
Deep Fried Prawn Roll with Cheese (RM 6.80)
Both fried dim sum were decent with no excessive oil traced.
Century Egg Porridge with Pork (RM 5.80)
BBQ Pork Steamed Rice Roll (RM 6.80)
Fish Ball (RM 4.80)
Pork Ribs in Plum Sauce (RM 6.80)
Siew Mai with Fish Roe (RM 5.80)
Har Gao (RM 5.80)
Steamed BBQ Pork Bun (RM 6.80)
Others dim sum were just mediocre for us, nothing to complaint but nothing too impressive too.
Verdict: The food was just ok for us but the price range is slightly higher than others dim sum restaurant.

Bak Kut Teh Xiao Long Bao! How interesting is that! But yea, prices are slightly higher, we have a few options only when it comes to Dim Sum here in Penang, like less than 5 dim sum eateries in total lol (for the island)
Oh… Klang Valley’s options are aplenty but good or not is different story 😛
argh…now i have to go cari dim sum to eat.long time tarak eat
Fast fast go !
Decent Dim Sum Fare. Unfortunately it’s now closed and unsure where it will be moving to…..
Hehe, they’ve commented below 😛
Dear Kelly and Choi Yen
We were constrained to move as we were told to vacate the premises by the Landlord. this came quite sudden to us and we hope the wait is not too long. We will update our customers once we have identified a location.
Thanks for the clarification 🙂
Bah Kut Teh xiao long bao.. hmm I wonder how it tastes like? haha =D
Heaven Knows
Similar with normal XLB but the broth within is mild BKT flavored 🙂
