Melbourne Trip 2019 ~ Brother Baba Budan
One thing you must not miss at Melbourne is to indulge yourself with the Australian way of “coffee culture”. Originally said to be started by a generation of Italian migrants, Melbourne now has a distinct style where it is now a beloved daily routine for many Australians to get their caffeine fix.
At Melbourne, you will be spoilt with the choices of coffee joints that ranges from posh to industrial style to quick-good-tiny place. While the latter (quick-good-tiny place) is one of the features at CBD Melbourne, I am quite surprised how cozy it is from the inside when I walked into Brother Buba Budan.
Nestled on bustling Little Bourke St at CBD Melbourne which houses plenty of cafes and eateries, Brother Baba Budan has built a highly regarded reputation that has lasted ever since it opened in 2007.
The tiny little cafe is named after a 16th-century Sufi – Baba Budan who smuggled seeds out of Yemen to bring coffee to the world. Don’t expect this place to be your usual sit-down-for-hours cafe because there are only small number of seats and the chairs on the ceiling are more than those on the floor. (⊙_⊙)
The cafe adopted a mix of neutral and rustic colors theme with a hotchpotch of wooden fixtures and fittings. Patrons were crowded around a large communal table as well as seated on the tiny bar during our visit and we were lucky to get three seats while waiting for our coffees. Takeaway definitely your best bet here.
Assorted coffees are the real focus here, with small selection of teas as well as cakes and pastries. that’s all. Coffees were great nonetheless, brewed from the thoughtfully sourced beans and roasted by experienced roasters, this place certainly a must visit for avid coffee aficionado. Oh ya, they sell coffee beans too.
♥Verdict: For those who wants a flavour of Melbourne coffee, this place definitely a good option.
