The Deck Gastrobar @ WEIL Hotel, Ipoh

Nestled on the rooftop (13th floor) of WEIL Hotel, The Deck Gastrobar offers a splendid dining with gorgeous sunset view experience that absolutely perfect for a romantic date or casual gathering with friends or family.

 

The gastrobar takes on a modern contemporary ambiance with cool purple glows, playing on the theme of wood with cream, black and red. It’s nicely spacious with a few seating options. High tables and bar seats for diners to hangout for great bites and drinks, relax on the sofas to chill or dine on the normal dining tables and chairs.

 

The couches on beautiful lawn at the outdoor, decorated with dreamy fairly lights seem perfect for a drink or two with friends or family on a leisure weekend night.

 

Red Bull Lime Twister (RM20.00+)

A refreshing mocktail to kick started our dinner.

 

Complimentary bread served with herbs butter.

 

Prawn Cocktail (RM25.00+)

Hubby and Sam enjoyed the fresh bouncy prawns however it’s not my preferred type of salad as I like my salad with light vinaigrette dressing.

 

Crispy Tofu Salad (RM15.00+)

Tofu and salad may sound to be an odd pairing but this dish turned out to be a great combination and I like it! The bean curd was thinly battered and deep fried, combined harmoniously with fresh crisp mesclun, Shimeji Mushrooms, micro herbs and cherry tomatoes, tossed with appetizing vinaigrette dressing.

 

Pumpkin Soup (RM15.00+)

Thick, creamy and natural sweetness of the pumpkin, a pretty satisfying soup I would say.

 

Wagyu Rib Eye (RM140.00+)

Don’t misled by this thin piece of steak as it provided same beefy richness taste that can satisfy any beef lover. Expertly cooked to the perfect medium doneness with beautiful char marks (the difficulty is increased because of the thickness of the meat), the Wagyu rib eye was tender, flavourful with just the right amount of luscious fat. Drizzles of balsamic reduction brilliantly cut through the richness of the meat and provided a pleasant acidic tilt to the overall flavour.

 

Lamb Shank (RM58.00+)

The drool-worthy large lamb shank was braised till fall-off-the-bone tender, sitting on bed of mashed potato, accompanied with blanched vegetables. The gravy was savoury with good doses of herbs and spices notes.

 

Fish & Chips (RM29.00+)

Sam had no complaint with her order – two big pieces of deep fried fish fillet in airy light batter, served with purple cabbage slaw and tartar sauce.

 

Chocolate Lave (RM15.00+)

 

Mango Cheese Cake (RM18.00+)

We were really stuffed after our appetizers and main course but there’s always room for dessert, don’t we? Both desserts put a sweet conclusion to our satiated dinner at The Deck.

 

Verdict: Overall, The Deck Gastrobar is easily beat my expectations on what they came up with. It’s no brainer that I would recommend you this place for some fancy modern food or for an occasional indulgence.
