Pinmo Pure Store 品墨良行 , Qing Tian 76 青田76, Yongkang Street 永康街 @ Taipei
Our second day at Taipei started with a leisurely itinerary that included a visit to this quaint little paper/zakka store nestled in a residential area at Yongkang Street, Da’an District.
Look at the super cute facade, it’s a kind of setting that attract people to step in and check out the place.
Pinmo Pure Store 品墨良行, a paper lab that carries a decent array of art papers as well as fine selection of paper products such as note books, calendars, bookmarks and postcards.
There are also small collection of handy crafts and zakka home products that too fascinating to resist. They were whispering in my ear “bring me home, bring me home….” LOL
The highlight of our visit that day was a DIY workshop where we can create our own postcard. Not only serves as a retail shop, Pinmo Pure Store also provides chance to customers to make their own notebooks, calendars or postcards using a selection of papers and material.
Apart from the walls which are stocked with shelves full of different types of papers in different sizes and textures for you to choose, there are materials like wood, textiles, jute rope, dried flowers, petals, leaves and many more. Mix and match the materials and custom made your very own notebook or postcard!
The workstation wasn’t too spacious but well equipped with all essential tools such as scissors, pencils, colour pencils, tapes, cutter, puncher and etc.
We had loads of fun during the postcard DIY workshop, check out the happy faces of my travel companions. ^__^ It was a fabulous experience indeed.
Tata, this is mine, how many points you will give me?
Verdict: An unusual place and a step removed from the tourist throng experience that you should put into your itinerary.

From Pinmo Pure Store we took a leisure stroll along the streets and alleys and passing by the low-rise residences along with lush trees in Da’an district.
Da’an district 大安区 is an important educational, commercial, residential and cultural district of Taipei City. It offers some of Taipei’s most expensive residential real estate as well as houses numerous shopping areas such as Zhongxiao East Road 忠孝东路 and Dunhua South Road 敦化南路. Da’an is the home of three major national universities: National Taiwan University (国立台湾大学), National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (国立台湾科技大学) and National Taiwan Normal University (国立台湾师范大学). Other notable place include the Da’an Forest Park (大安森林公园). It is a public park that occupies twenty-six hectares of land and acting as the “lungs of Taipei city”.
A walk under the nice weather of sunny day with comfortable wind blowing, accompanied by laughter and chit-chat, what a wonderful journey. We passed by several old Japanese-style dormitories that have been preserved and renovated and one of them is Qing Tian 76 (青田76), our next destination.
Qingtian 76, an old dormitory situated at a quiet leafy lane at Qingtian Street, Da’an District, Taipei. This stunningly beautiful house intertwines Japanese-era architecture and landscaping. The building was constructed by Professor Masashi Adachi in 1931 and taken over by Professor Ting-Ying H. Ma (马廷英博士) a professor of geology from National Taiwan University. The dormitory was officially designated as Municipal Relics site in 2006.
Living room
Stepping into the house with wooden floors and windows, tatami, classic and elegant furniture, antique ornaments, old books, and old photos on the wall, everything seem like telling the old dormitory’s history.

Deck – The long Japanese style corridor exudes nostalgic scent of yesteryear.

Various rooms in the house.
The interior is cleverly combines both Japanese and Western architectural style which stand harmoniously despite its age and several renovation works.
Right beside the dormitory, there is an exhibit of precious geological samples which is in remembrance of Processor Ma, the first Head of the Department of Geosciences. The exhibit with a diverse collection of rocks from all over Taiwan also intended to further spread the knowledge of geology and extend geological education to the general public. There are also flower symbols for 366 days.
This is mine, Leea Guineensis = Splendid ^__^
A small souvenir shop near the exhibit.
To be honest, I was more attracted to the onsite restaurant which serves Japanese food and fine tea set. Great ambience in the sunshine room with ample of sunlight and the koi pond at outdoor.
Group or personal guided tour is available for booking two weeks in advance.

Verdict: If you looking for a trip which can explore a little deeper or a more authentic side of the city, this is one of the place you shouldn’t miss. Spare time for a meal here too!
