Kings Green Hotel @ Melaka
For a short and fruitful getaway, we decided to spend Sam’s last weekend of the first school holiday of the year at historic Melaka town (check out all our previous Melaka trips here).
The only difference from all our previous trips was that we had a fully rejuvenating trip. We spent our whole Melaka time at our hotel and we didn’t step out from the hotel for any food hunting or cafe hopping :P. Our meals were well taken care in the hotel and the food was surprisingly above our expectations! I will blog about the food in another post, so let’s talk about my accommodation first – Kings Green Hotel.
Kings Green Hotel is a 4-star hotel located at Jalan Tun Perak, Melaka with some attractive tourist spots such as Porta de Santiago, Jonker Street and Melaka River Cruise are just short drive distance.
Arrived just in time for check in and process was swift and pleasure. The hotel’s lobby is brightly illuminated with plenty of sunlight from the glass panels. Although nothing too much on decoration but it certainly has the feel of spaciousness with the high ceiling, and there are comfortable sofas for the guests too.
Kings Green Hotel is the first Green Building Index Certified Hotel in historical state of Melaka and Green Car Park for hybrid vehicles is one of the feature in the hotel. There are ample of parking lots at the hotel’s compound too.
Our Deluxe Room at 4th floor was adequately spacious and with plenty of room to move around. Dressed in a mixture of white + bright orange theme featuring hibiscus inspired motif on one of the wall which created a cheerful vibe. The room is furnished with one queen size bed and a super single bed, perfectly fit for 3 of us. But please be reminded that the sound proof of the room is not really good, we could hear the noise from the street as well as footsteps sound from the walkway.
Dressing table cum working desk and a lazy chair by the window.
Coffee table and chair at the mini balcony overlooking the street and the city’s view.
The room is equipped with all the necessities that any travelers could possibly ask for such as LCD TV, coffee making facilities, complimentary driiking water, mini bar, iron and board, indoor slippers and safety box.
The bathroom is fairly large in size with separate shower bath and a modern freestanding bathtub. Standard amenities, hair dryer and local handmade soaps are provided. Cleanliness level was satisfying as well.
We checked out the outdoor pool on the evening. Not the biggest I’ve seen but decent enough for a fun water playing session. There are sufficient of pool loungers placed around the pool however we saw some of the pool users were not in appropriate swim attire. Hopefully the management can enforce the rules strictly.
Green Acres Lounge & Bar – enjoy the laid-back happy hour session with some snacks and drinks while entertained by the live band.
Breakfast is served at Hibiscus Café which has both indoor and al-fresco seats to accommodate different preferences. Local and Western breakfast buffet spread wasn’t really extensive but decent enough to fuel up your tummy.
Jia Restaurant – We’ve tried both Chinese and Nyonya food here and what can I say but thumbs up to the chefs! Stay tune for the post ya!
Other facilities available are the well-equipped gym, ball rooms and meeting rooms.
Verdict: Overall, our stay at Kings Green Hotel was a pleasant one. We had a well rest weekend and felt fully re-charged to welcome a brand new week for school and work!

After looking at the nice photos, I am sure many people will consider staying at King’s Green Hotel. 🙂
Alice, hopefully my review can help those who need to seek for Melaka’s accommodation.
long time no go Melaka. how much is a night weekend
Sherry, maybe you can check out the rate in their website as the prices might be vary depends on season.
Not bad ohh….
in terms of cleanliness, room size and with bath tub summore! 🙂
Melissa, yes, the bath tub definitely a plus point!
Very nice hotel. It has been years since I visited Melaka.
PH, time to revisit, hehe ^__^
Looks simple and good!
Ken, indeed~
I just read about the hotel & you make me more clear about the hotel,,It would be benifecial for my next trip…thanks Yen..
Nayeem, good to know that my review can assist you in choosing your accommodation. Enjoy your trip and pls stay tune as I’m going to share my meals at restaurant in Kings Green too!
ooo i hadn’t heard of this hotel before. looks very pleasant in every way … a good addition since malacca has become so popular with tourists 🙂
Sean, I’m happy to see more accommodation choices too!
Your review really lured me to consider this hotel for my next trip. I am a staunch supporter for those Greens, Recycling & Environment lovers. The world ‘Rain Harvest’ attracted my eyes BIG as it reminded me of the first KL Condo that does rain harvesting @ Kuchai Lama area. (I wrote the entire brochure’s copy of this award winning condo project! Ahem!)
TM, you may try to book this hotel on your next Melaka trip to experience it yourself 🙂
Ahem…. good job on that brochure!
New hotel? Looks comfortable and reasonably-priced, I would think 🙂
Kris, Not really new, 5 years old.
