Harris Hotel @ Seminyak, Bali
Touched down at Bali circa 1pm+, our driver Mr. Nyoman (contact:+62 813-3868-5717 – charges USD75 for airport to Seminyak & Nusa Dua to airport as well as one day trip with self-planned itinerary) picked us up and sent us to our hotel.

After 50 minutes drive from the airport, we arrived at Harris Hotel located at Seminyak. The five storeys hotel has total of 231 rooms and strategically located at the heart of Seminyak area. The hotel is only a short stroll away from commercial shopping centers and also a stretch of nightlife entertainments that Bali has to offer, including Potato Head & Kudeta beach clubs.

The bright and airy lobby facing the busy street that houses quite a number of eateries and shops (included 2 convenient shops). There are bar counter, restaurant, boutique and kids corner on the same floor. Although we arrived on check-in time around 3pm+ but our room was not ready yet, so decided to have our lunch first as our previous meal was 6 hours ago at KLIA 2. #hungrydie >_<

We checked in to our room after lunch and were informed that we’ve been upgraded to pool-access room. The 30 m² Harris Unique Room is spacious, dressed in combination of white and earthy tone as well as splashes of their signature orange on the desk, day bed and bolster pillow.

The room setting is simple but functional with a double bed, working cum dressing desk, LED TV with both local & international TV channels, safe deposit box, minibar, coffee/Tea making facilities, complimentary bottled water, indoor slippers and Wifi connection.

The pool is accessible via the balcony but we didn’t have chance to use it. To be honest, I don’t really recommend this pool access room because other hotel guests might peek into your room when lounging at the pool area. The low gate also don’t have lock which means the room will be accessible by other if the glass window is not locked.

The bathroom is well sectioned into shower area and vanity unit. Basic toiletries such as shampoo, shower gel, shower cap, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste were provided, I’m glad that the cleanliness was nicely adequate.

There are both adult and wading pool located at the ground floor, sufficiently equipped with lounger chairs and sofas. I like the hotel compound is decorated with potted plants and surrounded by lush greenery of palm trees and small bushes which create a very relax vibe amidst the busy Seminyak street.

The infinity pool (Flying Pool) on level 5.

Other facilities such as restaurant, kids corner, gym, SPA and boutique are available at Harris Hotel too.

Buggy service is available to both Seminyak Beach and the happening Kayu Aya Street which filled with assorted of restaurants, retail shops, pubs, cafes and shopping malls.
Verdict: The Harris hotel is an ideal budget friendly hotel to stay if you want to explore the groovy nightlife at Seminyak area. Room was adequately clean and comfortable, for the price charged, I really couldn’t ask for more.

I guess the pool access room will appeal to those who like to swim as they can return to their room to shower immediately 🙂
Kris, Sam like swimming but we didn’t stay long in this room as per our plan, so the pool access was quite pointless for us 😛
I only like pool access rooms IF the pool is private. Otherwise I will not take a pool access room as it can be pretty noisy and lacking in privacy.
This budget hotel looks nice. Most importantly the location is good and convenient to go around.
Merryn, I didn’t think of this problem when I got the room upgrade >_< But luckily it was only 1 night stay 😛
nice-looking space to stay at – the 50-minute journey from the airport must be because of traffic! 😀
Sean, the traffic at Bali is quite unpredictable 😛
