Kuala Selangor Trip & TK Coconut Farm Ville @ Tanjung Karang

It was the first day of long weekend for public holiday of Agong’s Birthday.

We went for brunch and kicked started the journey of our road trip to Kuala Selangor and Sekinchan as per planned by hubby.

When mention about tourist attraction in Kuala Selangor, Bukit Melawati will be one of the first name in the list and it’s no surprise that this place was our first destination.

Bukit Malawati is a fortified hill located in Kuala Selangor with a viewpoint overlooking the sea of the Strait of Malacca and Sumatra , Indonesia. Read more about Bukit Melawati HERE.

Visitors may choose to get to the hilltop by a short hiking (5-10 minutes) or taking the tram ride. Tram tickets price: RM5 for adult and RM3 for kid (3-12 years).

We stopped by at Muzium Permainan Tradisional Rakyat (air-conditioned :P) before going up to the hill top. The museum showcases various traditional games such as Batu Seremban, Congkak, Sepak Raga, Galah Panjang, Kaki Hantu and many more.

Operation hours: 9.30am to 5.00pm,daily

Ticket: Free entrance until June 2023.

Kuala Selangor lighthouse also known as Altingsburg Lighthouse. It was built in 1907 to replace the original one constructed by the Dutch some two centuries earlier when they occupied the area.

Used extensively during the British colonial period, the lighthouse’s beacon continues to shine and function as a guide for vessels navigating the Straits of Malacca till this day.

Arrived at the top of the hill and we were greeted by a troop of monkeys. ⊙﹏⊙

These Silvered Leaf Monkey (Silvery Lutung) are generally quite tame and you may purchase food (long beans) from vendors to feed them.

Bukit Melawati also home another species  of monkey – macaques, which is more  aggressive and mischievous.

The tram ride.

After the short visit to Bukit Melawati, we walked to the nearby Kuala Selangor Mural Street Art which featuring a series of impressive murals themed culture of Kuala Selangor and traditional past times in the laneway between the old town’s two main rows of shoplots. Please enjoy these photos of those stunning artworks that we took under the scorching sun. (◕ﻌ◕ )
