Shoraku Tonkotsu Ramen @ Restoran Uncle Soon, Ara Damansara
The new discovered breakfast area that I mentioned in my last post was Ara Damansara, where hubby wanted to try out this pocket friendly Shoraku Tonkotsu Ramen housed in Restoran Uncle Soon.
Shoraku Tonkotsu Ramen
Typical Kopitiam setting with indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor seating. Apart from the Ramen stall, other food choices included Uncle Soon Fried rice, chicken rice, Wonton Mee, Kampar Noodle, Ipoh Hor Fun, curry mee and etc.
Shoraku Tonkotsu Ramen has the simplest and straightforward menu ever, black or white for soup base and big or small for portion. (^^)b
Shiro (small – RM14.00)
Shiro Tonkotsu Ramen, original Ramen with white color pork bone soup. Portion wise, it’s sufficient for a person with normal appetite. (≧▽≦) Completed with essential toppings of Ajitama, shredded wood ear fungus, Chashu and handful of chopped spring onion.
From the appearance, the pork bone broth looked cloudy but the consistency wasn’t as thick as those served in proper Ramen restaurants like THIS or THIS, but for the price charged, we have no complaint. The flavour was savoury with good umami note. The noodles was nicely springy and well absorbed the flavours of the soup.
Go for big portion at RM16 per bowl if you have good appetite.
The Chashu was thin but the meat cut with good fat-to-lean meat ratio and torched for extra smokiness was rather likeable.
Kuro (small – RM15.00)
Kuro Tonkotsu ramen, in darker hue of broth was infused with a mellow hint of garlic flavour. It was nicely executed as well.
Big portion priced at RM17.
Verdict: Decent food and affordable price, it’s our comfort food that we don’t mind returning for. ヽ(・∀・ヽ)

This is the first time I see a ramen stall at a coffee shop. Although the quality may not be as good as those at ramen restaurants (can’t expect too much at those price), I would be happy to enjoy the ramen since it is decent.
PH, I recentlt discovered another Japanese Ramen stall in on of my neighbourhood Kopitim! Let me check it out and share about it.
Wah this looks very good for kopitiam style!
KY, not very far from your place, you can have a try. 🙂
Wah, these days can even find ramen in coffee shops. I’ve an Uncle Soon in an adjacent neighbourhood too but the stalls will probably not be the same ones…but glad that I can finally get Uncle Soon fried rice near me. The chasu looks legit and well torched though…and at that prices, can’t really complaint.
Kris, there are several Uncle Soon Fried Rice stalls and shops around Klang Valley, yours most probably is the same.
Did you saw a Lala Bihun stall at this coffee shop?
