BBQ K Korean Buffet @ Solaris Mont Kiara
I love Korean food!! I just could not resist kimchi, Korean BBQ, Ddukbokkie (rice cake), bibimbap, Kimchi Jjigae, Ginseng Chicken Soup and many more! Why I love it so much?? Maybe I am a Korean in my previous life (reincarnation rocks), which I really think so ~~
Alas, it’s a sad fact that in Malaysia that decent Korean food is never cheap! It’s normal to fork out over a hundred Ringgit for a delicious Korean meal of 2-3 pax.
That was my assumption before I got to know the existence of a sumptuous Korean BBQ buffet at just RM45.00++/pax and that’s the price for an adult for dinner buffet!!
BBQ K Korean Buffet is located at Solaris Mont Kiara (row behind Maybank) and it occupied 2 lots in the 3rd floor. The restaurant is brightly lit, not much fancy decorations and only sparingly adorned with some Korean artists posters on walls. But the decor doesn’t matter as we were there for the MEAT (lots of it)!!!
The main dining area
If you want privacy, there are a few private rooms that can accommodate 6 -8 persons per room. A rather unfortunate feature is that there are no any retractable chimney on every table to suck out all the grilling smoke but overall the ventilation is bearable. (But you might have added the distinct BBQ flavor on yourself after the meal; please don’t say that I did not warn you ya ^__*)
The buffet spread:-
Bounteous array of kimchi, simply the quintessential of Korean meal to whet your appetite or go with the grilled meats.
A variety of side dishes such as pancake, seaweed rice balls and cold tofu.
Kimchi fried rice & soup
Ddukbokkie (rice cake in spicy sauce)
Braised pork knuckle, but mom & brother complaint that the overwhelming “porky” taste was a bit let down.
Besides the buffet spread there are some ala carte items on the menu too such as seafood stew, cold noodle and steamed egg but we got this complimentary from the lady boss 🙂
Fresh vegetables
Beverages counter
Limited dessert choices – puddings and puddings ONLY 😛
Are you ready for some serious food? Meat lovers, pork lover to be precise will go weak in their knees with the choices of pork available here!
Small selection of chicken and beef; the marinated octopus is a must try too!
Round1, fight! The enticing smoky aroma hit me almost instantly, can’t wait to digging in! Basically you have to do the grilling yourself and most of the time the waiter will do it for you.
Round 2, continue fighting! The carnivores in us rejoice in this indulgent meaty pleasure!
Round 3, mom and sister were raising white flag, burps~~~ LOL
Last round and these were brought to us by the waiter and we had to stopped him to bring in more for us as our stomached was bloated to the max! #surrendered
But please eat moderately, don’t take food that more than you can handle!
Verdict: The meat selections was really live up to its expectations, definitely can satiate the meat craving and enough to evoke a sigh of satisfactory~
