Big Big Cup Steakhouse @ Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong

Kepong folks are definitely obsessed with western food! The fact is evidently seen from the long queue and the crowd that thronged the D’Fortune Western Cuisine & Cafe (some said it’s Kepong’s best western restaurant) and the new kid on the block – Big Big Cup Steakhouse.

Setting foot at Taman Bukit Maluri, Big Big Cup Steakhouse is one of the a zinc-roofed shed eateries in this commercial area. Check out other eateries HERE.

We were here circa 7pm that Sunday and was the second group in the waiting list. Longer queue soon ensued after we were seated and the “restaurant” was bustling throughout the dinner time. This place certainly not the most comfortable place to eat as I found it a bit warm and stuffy even though there were ceiling fans.

As the name suggests, Big Big Cup Steakhouse offers variety of steak, ranging from chicken, pork, fish and lamb, priced from RM15.90 to 24.90. There are also sizzling platter priced from RM17.90 to RM38.90. Soup, salads, desserts, assorted beverages, beers and kids menu complete the menu.

Kedondong Sour Plum Juice (Large – RM13.50)

Comparison of our large size drink with the ketchup bottle, this is what they call BIG BIG CUP, haha! Ξ£( Β°oΒ°)

Fish n Chip (RM15.90)

Each main is served along with 2 sides of your option, Sam chose to have mashed potatoes and potato wedges. The food was quite average, nothing particularly worth mentioning.

Other options of side included rice, coleslaw, baked beans, mac n cheese (+RM3), french fries, onion ring, mixed veggies and sweet corn.

Cheesy Grilled Pork Chop (RM19.90)

I’m glad to know that they serve pork. My cheesy grilled pork chop came as a fairly thick slab considering the recent skyrocketing pork price. Topped with melted cheese, the pork chop although not the tenderest I’ve had, but decent for a satisfying meal.

Chicken Maryland (RM17.90)

The platter comprised deep fried breaded chicken chop, a chicken sausage and banana fritter (Pisang Goreng). Perfectly fried with crispy skin and succulent flesh, the chicken chop seem to achieve the targeted expectation.

Verdict: Wallet friendly neighborhood eatery. Pretty good value considering the portion and while it’s not mind-blowingly delicious, it’s a good meal option if you’re staying in this area.
