Dining at Lexis Suites Penang @ Bayan Lepas
Thanks to that rainy evening during our stay at Lexis Suites Penang, we had the chance to experience one of the latest trend to enjoy your seafood ~ ‘shell out’ method or savouring the ocean delight without any plates or cutlery, just dig in with bare hands!

The dining area at Roselle Coffee House is spacious with a minimalist theme that exudes a comfortable and relaxed vibe. With a violet feature wall, the restaurant is furnished with wooden tables and cushioned chairs as well as ample of the soothing lighting that ensure diners an enjoyable dining experience.

Check out the beautiful chandeliers outside the restaurant.

Seafood lovers will rejoice at the choices and quality offered at the seafood station, there were flower crab, prawns, squids, clams, cockles, scallops, mussels and fishes. Although no premium seafood such as lobster but rest assured, the freshness is guaranteed because they are sourced from the local fishermen around Teluk Kumbar and Balik Pulau. Just pick your favourite seafood and vegetables then choose the sauce you like and the food will be sent to your table when ready.

We had the spicy and sour sauce which complemented those seafood perfectly. Hubby and I indulged ourselves in seafood satisfaction. I think it could be better if fried Mantou can be served along to mop up all the saucy goodness.

I got some clams for Sam and had them cooked in rich and creamy cheese sauce. The well cooked clams was succulent, drenched in cheesy sauce, which made Sam finished the whole portion by herself. It’s no brainer that we had to order second serving to satisfy our craving. It’s definitely worth getting your little fingers dirty to dig out every delicious morsel of meat.

Plateless-eats, dining straight on the table with your hands (your best tool definitely!). You can go all caveman-gusta sorta thing here and savoring glorious seafood with finger-licking yumminess.

if you’re not into the shell out experience, you could always head on to the normal buffet spread filled with assorted appetizers, salad, soups, hot dishes as well as small selection of Japanese food.

The dessert choices was quite limited though but who cares, I came for the seafood!
Verdict: For the price charged, it’s certainly a deal that shouldn’t miss! Eat all those seafood till your heart’s content!
We came back to Roselle Coffee House the next morning for the breakfast which was included in our room rate.

Bread and pastries counter filled with assorted bun, bread, pastries, butter, fruit jam and toaster.

Salad bar

The mandatory and popular egg station, chef on duty will prepare the egg of your choices lively. I spotted the waffle machine too!

My must have porridge with plenty of add-on condiments!

Pipping hot steamed Dim Sum and Baos.

DIY noodle station.

Lexis Suites Penang is a popular accommodation among guests from Middle East, hence the Arabic Corner.

Cereals and yogurts.

Sam’s favourite cheese platter and surprisingly she can accept the pungent taste of the blue cheese, bravo my girl!

Fruits

These were some of food we had, noticed the last photo? There was even piping hot Tau Foo Fah with ginger or brown sugar syrup! Love it!
Verdict: Food selection was above average, it’s advisable to come down for breakfast (6.30am till 10.30am) earlier during peak season as the restaurant will get really packed and you might be in the waiting list for vacant table.

For a Seafood on Paper promotion, the seafood ‘stock’ looks kinda bare though….haha! 😉 Luckily, there are lots of other food in the buffet. I see a whole fish in the second photo…didn’t you grab the whole fish and ask them to cook it for you…..wuahahahaha! 😀
Kris, the staff replenished the seafood once it ran low and you are so naughty so ask me get that whole fish and ask them to cook. I think that fish is only for decoration purpose 😛
The dining ambiance is very nice and the price is definitely worth it.
TM, for hotel dining standard and setting, this definitely a deal!
