Dudu Yummy Restaurant @ Ara Damansara

It was a raining on one of our Sunday breakfast hunts. I don’t like rainy day, it makes everything wet and dirty, and it makes me depress too. (◞‸◟)

But, we still need to eat, right?

We noticed this Kopitiam was thronged with breakfast crowd during our visit to Restoran Uncle Soon, and thought that we should drop by next time to check it out. Fast forward to one month later, we were here for breakfast.

Ipoh Hor Fun (RM8.50)

Although this is under the same brand of Gai Si Hor Fun (GSHF) that I had at Restoran MJ Wang , Wah Yan Kai Desa Aman Puri and Wah Yan Kai Bandar Menjalara, I found that the broth was somehow less pronounced in flavour.

But don’t worry, this is still a noteworthy bowl of (GSHF) to try out.

Char Kuey Teow (Small – RM9.00)

Portion wise, bigger than the usual, however the taste missed the mark. From the appearance, the noodles wasn’t charred enough, and the “wok hei” was absence as expected. Flavour was not bad actually, savoury and spicy, just that I’m quite picky when comes to CKT. 😛

Cucur Udang (RM3.00/pcs)

Readers that know me well will know we will not be satisfied by just having a simple breakfast like above. We ordered prawn fritters as our “dessert” from the Cakoi vendor and it turned out to be our favourite food of our breakfast session.

The fritters were studded with generous amount of small prawns, onion and spring onion, deep fried to a crunchy finish. If I have to comment, they could have be better if freshly fried.

  • I’m of the same opinion about this brand of kai see hor fun. The one I ate in an adjacent neighbourhood also tasted better than the one I had in my taman. Ooo, I love all those fried pastries…may favourite is the ham chin peng with red beans.

    • Kris, I think the prawn oil is one of the crucial element for the tasty level of the broth, which is dependee on how much the vendor give. I didn’t try Ham Chin Peng this round, but from the appearance, they looked airy, should be not bad.

  • You should have try the outside cucur udang 1978 next to the Char Kuey Teow store. Also the char siew rice, kuew teow tong and assam laksa. Hear the yong tau fu also nice

  • What a cute name “Dudu Yummy”. I absolutely love ham ching peng ever since I was a kid. I suppose you will be back for more prawn fritters.
