This April, get ready to tantalize your palates with some new flavors and aromas that will be featured in Jamaica Blue Seasonal Menu. The menu offers seven mouth-watering dishes, from breakfast classics, savory mains, soup, salad and delectable sweet treat. The seasonal menu will be available from 4th April till 15th May 2016 at a promotional price to introduce these new flavors to the consumers before the launch of new menu in May.

Their out let at Setia City Mall  is dressed in soothing earthy tones with a mixture of grey, green and blue with splash of orange. It is spacious and brilliantly sectioned into a few area with different types of seats. The decorative metal elements and the unique lamp shades added a sense of modernness to the overall ambiance.

A rather huge beverages preparation counter cum cashier at the entrance completed with display cabinet filled with assorted of delectable looking cakes, pastries and food.

Jamaica Blue serves 2 types of coffee beans:-

~ Jamaica Blue Mountain, single origin coffee from the Blue Mountain of Jamaica, one of the world’s superior coffee growing region. It is mild, perfectly balanced and sweet with crisp finish.

Both gourmet coffee, although of different mixture, were surprisingly smooth with less tint of sourish flavor attributed to the beans used.

Not a coffee person? Fret not, there are sufficient of non-coffee beverages dominate the menu.

Caramel Milk Shake (RM 12.90)

Chicken & Corn Soup

Thick and creamy and served with toast, a comfortable food to kick start your meal.

Thai Chicken Noodle Salad

The vermicelli salad is served cold with capsicum, baby Bok Choy, cashew nuts, coriander tossed in sweet, spicy and sour Asian style dressing. The portion was big and hitting the right note for flavors and textures

The new items under the breakfast menu are:-

Sourdough Crumpets with Avocado, Scrambled Eggs, Pesto and Pine Nuts

This was my first tried on crumpet which possessed a pleasant chewy and spongy texture. Highly stacked with ingredients such as wilted spinach, scrambled eggs, avocado, pesto and  sprinkle of pine nuts, featured a multitude of flavors and textures.

Smoked Salmon Potato Cakes

I like the velvety soft potato cakes studded with herbs, layered with smoked salmon, and caramelized onions paired with Hollandaise sauce.The combination works wonder with all the flavors amalgamated brilliantly making the dish memorable.

Sourdough Crumpets with Hazelnuts Chocolate and Mixed Berries.

For those who prefer some sweet treats for their breakfast, this would suffice to please you. Sourdough crumpets generously slathered with hazelnuts chocolate spread served with fresh cream. The chocolate spread was a tad too much for me but luckily the mixed berries managed to cut through the sweetness.

Chicken & Mushroom Crepes

The savory crepes with eggy flavor filled with shredded chicken, mushrooms, baby spinach, ricotta and cheese. It tasted fabulous with all the hearty ingredients and the dish showcases wholesomeness with the accompanied mesclun salad.

Home made Coconut Lime Cake

The coconut lime cake had a nice coconut aroma and flavors however the texture was too crumbly for my liking.

Verdict: Coffees were good and hits and misses on food. I’ll recommend  the Smoked Salmon Potato Cakes & Chicken & Mushroom Crepes
