Jarrod & Rawlins @ Plaza Damansara, K.L
Quick note on our (hubby & yours truly) Sunday breakfast adventure:
Ever get excited to try a place you’ve heard so much about, only to arrive and realize…… it’s closed? T_T
You’d think we’d learn to check the opening hours first, but sometimes the excitement gets the best of us! ┐(´-`)┌
From Ipoh Gai Si Hor Fun to English Breakfast, I cannot explain the drastic change of my craving that day, but anyway, here we were, at Jarrod & Rowlins (J&R), Plaza Damansara. There are several choices for English Breakfast/Big Breakfast in this area, but I wanted something “Non Halal”, so we opted for Jarrod and Rawlins which has always prides for their full English breakfast.
The restaurant is beautifully elegant, with gorgeous chandelier and sconces that emitted a pleasant yellowish hue to the ambience. The main dining area is equipped with leather banquette seat and further into into the restaurant lies an English Tudor style bar counter.
Wine barrels as part of the decoration on the ceiling!
High “table” seating on the walkway outside the restaurant which are suitable for drinking session.
There are good selection of breakfast in the menu included J&R’s signature English Breakfast, as well as other dishes such as Egg Benedict, Smoked Salmon on Toast, starters, salads, and light meals.
Hot Cappuccino (RM12.00)
Large English Cooked Breakfast (RM58.00) + Crispy Bacon (RM8.00)
Smoked Ham Croquettes (RM25.00)
It’s a fully loaded platter comprised 2 homemade pork sausages, scrambled egg, bacon (streaky/crispy), black pudding, grilled tomatoes, stir fried mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns and toasted bread.
Our first try on black pudding, a type of blood sausage originating in the United Kingdom and Ireland was a rather delightful. It had a crumbly texture and we were glad that there wasn’t any “bloody” or odd taste, the seasoning was adequate. The toasted bread and grilled tomatoes were delectable. The pork sausages weren’t as firm as I would have thought, slightly under-seasoned but the flavour was balanced out when eaten with the extremely salty stir fried mushroom. =.=”
The more than generous amount of butter \(^o^)/, photo above was after I took a scoop.
The Smoked Ham Croquettes with golden, crunchy coating and creamy, cheesy centre were served with tangy tomato chutney. The chunky sweet and sour chutney has a spicy kick, which balances the richness of the croquettes and adds another flavour dimension.
Verdict: We were absolutely STUFFED after this meaty and slightly greasy breakfast. Should have just ordered the English Breakfast, it was too much food for us. (-“-;)

I have seen their brand of sausages sold at Hank’s. Their English Breakfast seems very ngam my portion size LOL!
PH, I think I bought their brand of sausage. Plaza Damansara seem like a place that you seldom venture to. 😛 But for the sake of trying that big breakfast, I think you should consider to make a trip there.
Ooo…I’ve heard about this place…that plate of Big Breakfast is very extravagant at RM66! Wah, it must be very good to make you willing to pay that price for a BB. Why cannot finish lah…shared by two…as your second plate were just 3 croquettes…lol. I think even I can handle the BB on my own (when it’s good)…hehehe! 😉
Kris, a meal of RM66 but shared by two persons, not so expensive also lah, hehe. 😛
The big breakfast was very meaty for me and I felt a bit cloying halfway through.
