Kampung Mama Restaurant @ Kepong Ulu
I was faced with the dilemma of whether or not to share this restaurant with you all……… ◔_◔
I’ve tried a couple of curry noodles in my area (Kepong) recently (read HERE & HERE) and today’s one thus far is the most gratifying bowl of curry noodles compared with the aforementioned.
Nestled in the same Kampung (village) as Fat Mum Curry Mee, Kampung Mama is another hidden gem that well worth checking out.
Simple local noodle dishes and several Vietnamese fares dominated the menu. Beverage list on the other hand was extensive.
Hor Ka Sai 虎咬狮 (Big – RM4.10)
The name is pronounced in Hokkien which means “tiger bites lion”, it’s a drink with mixture of Milo and Kopi’O (local coffee).
Kampung Curry Mee (RM8.90)
Thanks to the unattractive photo of the pale looking curry noodles in Google Review, I actually visited the restaurant without any expectation. But to my surprise, when my bowl of noodle was served to our table, it looked utterly inviting with thick broth in bright red (or orange? LOL) sheen.
The curry broth indeed irreproachable in taste and texture. It was thick and savoury, with good dose of Santan (coconut milk) for that creaminess. It also packed quite a fiery punch which had both hubby and I sweat while enjoying it. It’s so good that deserved a chef’s kiss. The noodle came with fresh cockles, bean curd puffs, Char Siew, long bean and bean curd sheet.
Curry Chicken Mee (RM10.90)
With extra RM2, we got a more “premium” version with additional 4-5 pieces of curry chicken and potatoes.
Verdict: This no doubt, is one of the best curry noodles that I’ve had! I just had it last week and I’m craving for it again when I’m writing this……. should I revisit this week?

Why were you hesitant to share about this restaurant? You scared we all rush there ramai-ramai is it? LOL! I must say that the photo of the curry mee is indeed worthy of your praise. Looks good and actually taste good. I say, I must ask my brother is he is willing to take me to Kepong and eat this curry mee.
PH, you’re absolutely correct about my hesitation, LOL. See, you’re attracted to visit this place…. 😛
Haiz…I thought I left my comment here but looks like hilang already. >.< In short, I thought the curry at Keng Nam Hai was pretty good (can give our favourite curry a run for its money), so if you say this one is even better, then I should make it here one day to try. ^_~
Kris, you can try when you go visit your mom.
Wah that pricing isn’t bad, even kopitiam also almost similar d.
KY, that price & that portion, I have no complaint. 😛
