The Blue Cow Cafe @ Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas
The Blue Cow Café, a butchery cum cafe that tucked away at Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas. Patrons can get the freshest quality Australian beef and lamb, house made fresh sausages and burgers, as well as very best fresh local pork, ham and bacon. The cafe on the other hand offers a wide range, including soup, salad, burgers, sausages, roast meals, steaks, stews and desserts. Their signature dish is “The Big BBQ Breakfast” which can only be described as a feast for all the senses.
The narrow and long space of the restaurant was furnished with sturdy dark wooden tables and chairs. Walls dressed in deep blue tone adorned with framed art pieces, the overall setting is homey and comfortable which make me feel like dining at someone’s house.
The display counters showcased a fine variety of fresh meats, house made sausage, patties, bacon and ham. Patrons can buy the produce back for self-cooking or had it cooked at the cafe.
The terrace at the back of the restaurant overlooking the Istana Negara as well as the KL city’s view is great for gathering in big group.
Large Platter (RM 115.00)
A humongous platter that comprised 2 sausages, 2 kebabs, rump steak, pork steak, lamb chop, burger patty, bacon and 3 side dishes
There’s so much happening on the plate! This magnificent plateful is ideal to be shared by 3 to 5 people, the quality of the meat and sausages is unquestionable and being grilled beautifully with pleasant smoky aroma. My personally adore the textures and flavors of the sausage, firm with right doses of seasonings, tasty yet not too salty.
Creamy Mushroom Soup (Bowl – RM 12.00)
Made from scratch right at the cafe, no MSG and preservative were added. The mushroom soup had a nice creamy texture and the mushroom bits were abundance. The discernible earthy flavor definitely something I enjoyed immensely.
Spicy Tomato & Bacon Soup (Bowl – RM 12.00)
One sip and I was taken! I was enamored of this soup with right balance of spiciness and tangy-ness. The flavors were certainly bold and punchy with lots of herbs notes.
Shepherd Pie (RM 20.00)
Hidden underneath the fluffy mashed potato and melted cheese was the beef stew that redolent with herbs. A classic rendition that well executed.
Pork Rendang (RM 22.00)
Served with rice, pickles and fried egg, this pork rendang played a twist on a local favorite. The combination was commendable however the taste missed the mark. Flavors was monotonous and lacking a little in that hearty factor.
Crumbed Pork with Spinach Cheese
Crumbed Pork Cordon Bleu
Both are new items in the menu, stuffed with cheese and spinach and bacon and cheese relatively. The overflows melted cheese that oozes out once you cut it, this definitely won’t disappoint the cheese lovers.
Verdict: The top notch quality meat and other produces certainly contemplate returning.

There is no brown cow or blue cow there, haha!
this place has stayed the same throughout the years, still as awesome as it was 10 yrs back.
Really! Standard remained for 10 years, definitely not easy!
Do you get to choose what’s on the big platter or is it already preset for you? There’s one nearer my place where they let you choose what meats you want and they cook it for you 🙂
You get to choose the sausages, others are preset, but let’s say if cant take beef, maybe can ask the waiter see what can you exchange
Holy cow! That is a really big platter.
Can shared by your whole family I guess, LOL
