Restoran Busy Corner @ Damansara Jaya
Claypot chicken rice, who’s fan of this pipping hot, fulfilling and hearty goodness that emit alluring aroma and literally make you salivating once the cover is opened! *raise both hands
When I craved for claypot chicken rice one weekend evening, we make a beeline for Choong Kee Kampar Claypot Chicken Rice at Damansara Jaya which is reputed to serve one of the best Claypot Chicken Rice in town to fix that craving. Unfortunately it was closed that day and we proceed to our second option Restoran Busy Corner which is located a few streets away from Choong Kee.
Restoran Busy Corner, a no-frills restaurant with simple ‘kopitiam’ setting was swarmed by dinner crowd when we reached that day.
Other than the claypot chicken rice, they also have some unusual offers such as claypot prawn rice, claypot black pepper beef rice, Thai chicken rice, just to name a few. They serve steamed soup too, do check out what’s available when you make ordering.
Claypot Chicken Rice (Small – RM8.00)
Our claypot chicken rice arrived pipping hot with sizzling sound of rice being continue cooked in heat, was topped with marinated chicken pieces, slivers of Chinese sausages, raw onions, chopped spring onions and salted fish was served separately. Mix everything thoroughly and you will be rewarded with a delightful pot of rice well infused with savoury soy sauce and tender pieces of chicken. The salted fish definitely the magical boozy that lending a fabulous aroma and taste to the rice. There was a thin layer of essential crusty rice bits at the bottom of the pot as well.
Claypot Yam Chicken Rice (Small -RM10.00)
We also had this Claypoy Yam Chicken rice which came with similar marinated chickien chunk with extra yam cubes and dried shrimps. Between the claypot chicken rice and this, I swayed towards the later because I like the fragrance of those crispy dried shrimp bits as well as the soft yam cubes that added texture to the dish.
Steamed soup (RM6.00/bowl)
Steamed soup was equally delicious. We had the Lotus Roots and Peanut Soup, it was intensely flavoured and made a lovely pairing with the rice.
Plump and crunchy blanched bean sprouts with oyster sauce and crispy fried onions was our vegetable requirement for that evening.
Verdict: This place indeed ideal for a casual meal for its reasonable price and portion. I wouldn’t mind returning to try out other variations.
