Shumatsu Buffet @ Eyuzu Japanese Cuisine, Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur
I was at Eyuzu Japanese Cuisine, Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur for their Shumatsu Japanese buffet spread a couple of weeks ago. This was my second time here and I’m glad that their food is just as good or even better with some new additions to the spread. Available every weekend and priced at RM118 nett per adult.
I was very pleasantly to find that the restaurant had undergone a complete refurbishment since my last visit. The award winning restaurant adopted a subdued wooden theme with a modern contemporary setting and tastefully decorated with plenty of Japanese inspired ornaments.
There are 6 private dining rooms at Eyuzu which can be an ideal venue for private functions or special occasions.
The sake collections as part of the decoration in the restaurant.
Diners can expected nothing but the freshest air-flown fish from Japan here at Eyuzu. The kitchen team will receive the mystery air-flown delivery twice weekly (every Tuesday and Friday) without knowing the type of fish. Some of the varieties include Kamasu, Kinmedai, Kurodai or fresh shellfish such as live scallops and many more.
Moving on, the much loved shumatsu buffet dinner which featuring wide range of mouth-watering dishes indeed a luxurious treat to bring family or friends to enjoy the sumptuous buffet on the weekend.
The sashimi section always my first station to check on for any Japanese buffet. There were Salmon, Tuna, Butterfish and Tako that evening which showcased the delicate flavors of the sea.
Also can’t miss were those beautiful prawns and oysters on ice.
Nigiri sushi, maki sushi and hand roll.
Japanese appetizers of edamame, marinated baby octopus, marinated hotate, marinated jelly fish, Japanese seaweed, fried fish skin and many more.
For those who is not fancy of raw oyster, the Kaki Motoyaki (oyster gratin) topped with melted cheese definitely not a bad choice at all and I had 2 helpings of this.
Unagi Kabayaki, a dish that rarely available in Japanese buffet which had me singing for joy. BIG satisfaction when I enjoying this simply because I love it!
Deep Fried Tako Balls
The hot warmers filled with wide selection of dishes Sweet and Sour Chicken Wings, grilled Salmon head, Salmon Gratin such as grilled Saba, Sanma and Shishamo.
Oden (fish cakes in hot broth), Chikuzen-Ni (simmered chicken and vegetables) and Gyuniku Daikon (simmered beef and daikon).
More hot dishes such as Chicken Teriyaki, Garlic Fried Rice, Yasai Itame (Stir fried mix vegetables) and Fried Udon.
Silky smooth Chawanmushi from the steamer is a must for me 🙂
DIY cold or hot soba/udon counter.
Dobin Mushi a traditional Japanese broth featuring light broth with seafood served in cute little ceramic teapot.
The choices at dessert corner might seem limited but a few of them hit the spot. The creamy green tea cream brulee, Dorayaki (Japanese pancakes) as well as the pipping hot Abekawa Mochi (Mochi with black sesame filling with soy bean flour).
Fresh fruit, free flow of chilled juice and freshly brewed coffee and tea are available too.
I always end my buffet section with a few scoops of ice cream with condiments. Burps…
