MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle
Rated at No.7th in popular noodle blog Ramen Rater’s “Top 10 spiciest instant noodles of all time 2013″, MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle has created a storm that hit the whole Malaysia a few months ago. (Or the craze still going on now?) I heard that there was a shortage of this instant noodle all across the country and people hunting high and low for it, thanks to the numerous reviews from medias included newspapers, Facebook & blogsphere.
Thank you Jenn for giving me a precious pack of 4 packets which she brought back from Penang a few months ago. You may wonder why I didn’t blog about it earlier? Because……… I only open it last week after so many months! *RUN*
The packaging
What’s inside? The noodle of course =.=”, chilli paste, seasoning powder, and non-dairy creamer.
I added in a hard boiled egg and some fish balls. So how’s the taste, does it justify all the hype?
The noodle:- Quantity is 20-30% more than normal instant noodle such as CintaX or MameX. The noodle is wider and texture is more springy.
The soup:- Appeared in a bright red sheen and has a good body from the creamer. The broth packed with good curry flavor with the right level of spiciness.
Now you see, now you don’t ^__*
Verdict: MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle tastes better than most of the instant noodle I’ve tried but it is still an unhealthy food that I’m not going to consume too often.

hahaha.. shiok leh… but true… take only in moderation! 😉
Or when the craving attack in midnight, haha!
Uh… You drank all the soup?! I find it bland that I’ve to add some salt to the soup to become tasty.
Maybe you add too much water when cooking?
I don’t usually eat instant noodles too but after reading so much about it, I couldn’t ignore my curiosity! Bought two packs back to Shanghai in our recent home trip but haven’t tried it yet. It better be good!! :p
Perhaps it can cure your homesick when craving for Malaysian spicy food 😛
Plenty of them here in Penang now, price hiked, no one buys, around Rm8 per packet of 4. Its always wiser to buy the fresh one for us who are in Penang, there’s another version coming up, known as Ah Lai Curry Mee, haven’t tried that one yet though
Ya, heard about Ah Lai but not sure can get here at Klang Valley or not 🙂
After this I stop eating other brand instant noodles, haha
but if the mee can taste better will be perfect~
Normally I don’t eat curry flavored instant noodle but this definitely change my perception!
Hubs ate that. Fall sick. Too heaty for this weather gua
Aiyo, must drink more water!
I have my 1st try last weekend too!!
But somehow i still prefer Maggie..White Curry not bad just that too oily for me..
I don’t like curry flavored instant noodle all these while, but this is OK for me 🙂
My sister brought few pkts for me from Penang, just cooked today, my hubby happy to have this but I am just ok because I feel the taste is very strong with belacan and too rich the soup base, still prefer Maggi mee curry, hehehe..
Different people have different taste bud I would say~
i think they expanded and available in many places now. even genting and singapore has it!
my family tried it and they complimented it highly. but bro kenot tahan the heat haha
I wonder why many people said it is heaty o.O”
Agree! Yes, babe, the hype’s still on as I was asked about it when I was back in the city during the CNY holidays. It’s instant noodles and should not be consumed too often; besides nothing beats freshly cooked food, right?
However, this is an innovative effort to satisfy those out-of-towners who lust and craves for the Peranakan white curry noodles, I guess….and so far, there is only one cafe which is famous for this white curry noodles in Penang, lol =P
Ya, for those stay abroad, this definitely can cure their homesick!
The soup is quite good, but not the noodle :p
I personally still prefer Thai instant noodle.
But I think Thai instant noodle’s portion is much more smaller, must eat 2 packets only can full LOL
