Old Siam Kopitiam @ One Utama
Old Siam Kopitiam, a humble kopitiam style restaurant tucked away at one of the corner in One Utama Shopping Centre. Owned by Sita Jayadeva which is also owner of Surisit Thai Kopitiam, there is no surprise that my dining experience here was a pleasant one , just like my last visit 🙂
A simple setting with basic wooden tables and stools, no fancy decoration with only some framed old photo sparingly adorned the wall. This place is rather small which can be easily occupied with 20+ patrons.
I adored the antique floral pattern tiles which exudes an old Siam charm vibe.
Condiments on the tables ~ chili flakes, chili powder, sugar and chili in soy sauce.

Tom Yum Kai (RM 12.90)
The Tom Yum was robust with fieriness of spices and herbs, the broth had great flavors however I had a grouse with the skimpy portion of chicken meat given 😛
The Tom Yum was served with Thai fragrant rice and omelet. Look at the heart shape rice with eyes and mouth, cute max right?
Moo Thod Kratiem Prik Thai (RM 10.90)
Deep fried pork in garlic served with Thai fragrant rice topped with sunny-side-up and a side of Thai papaya salad.
The deep fried thinly pork slices were fantastic, well marinated and heavenly scented with loads of fried garlic. It really tempted me to go for one piece after another, good stuff!
Thab Thim Krob (RM 7.90)
One of the popular Thai dessert, red ruby (water chestnut coated in tapioca flour and red colouring) and jackfruit in coconut milk.
A beautiful dessert; red, yellow and white, perfect in appearance and the taste also equally great too. I like it not too sweet and the red ruby and jackfruit were very generous in portion.
Verdict: Offer reasonably priced quick meal such as one dish item and noodle , indeed not a bad choice in a shopping mall.

Definitely one of my favourite food places in 1U! The rice with deep fried pork is a must-order without fail. XD

Been here once and I thought it was a nice and affordable place for some Thai Food.
I had their Pad Thai which was good and delicious. Very similar to what I had in BKK.
I’ll go back to try out more if I happen to be at 1U 🙂
No wonder the sign boards at both Surisit and Old Siam look so similar.
Their food is very good and quite expensive. The best Khanom Jeen dish is served
at Black Canyon in Centrepoint @ BU.

The kitchen is dirty…only patrons with no dignity and no brains eat there,let it close down.
