Ee Chinese Cuisine @ Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya
Dining at Ee Chinese Cuisine @ Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya will never cease to please me (Read some of my experience HERE, HERE and HERE) so I was here last month for a casual dinner with group of foodies. Since we are regular patrons here, we let the chef decide on what to have that evening 🙂
Deep-Fried Prawn Dumpling in Superior Broth & Gratinated Canadian Oyster with Lemon Cheese Sauce (灌汤炸虾饺拼西柠芝士炬生蚝)
It was a platter consisted of two sea treasure dishes aesthetically placed on a large square plate. The huge oyster on half shell certainly stole the limelight with thick slathered lemon cheese sauce on top then baked till golden finish. Luscious and creamy, provided a five-star enjoyment on each bite!
“Who lives in the pineapple under the sea? SpongeBob SquarePants!” No no, this was not SpongeBob SquarePants nor pineapple but a prawn dumpling filled with savory broth. This dish was to me an incarnation of fried version of Xiao Long Bao, hehe 😛
Fish Broth with Mushrooms, Lotus Root and Fish Mousse in Mini Clay Pot (浓汤莲池鱼付)
I’m always consoled by soup dish at Ee in pure contentment. The intensely flavored broth from the hours of fish and chicken bones boiling with slightly texture but not heavy on the lips. Also spotted in the soup were soft fish mousse, lotus root, mushroom and cellophane noodles (Dong Fun).
Baked Stuffed Chicken Wing with Savory Sauce (辣烧汁炬鸡翅)
The plump chicken wing was painstakingly de-boned and stuffed with minced chicken. Gleaming in a mahogany colour, the chiken wing was covered with sweet and sticky sauce with hint of spiciness.
The pickled papaya in beautiful flower shape as side.
Charcoal Beancurd with Crispy Enoki Mushrooms (脆菇竹炭豆腐)
Black coloured food is the latest trend in gastronomy world now, we can get charcoal bread, charcoal burger or even charcoal pizza! Echoing the trend, Ee kitchen team has came out with this charcoal beancurd. Sitting on light flavored gravy with a contrasting white asparagus and crunchy fried enoki mushrooms, the black beancurd had mild soy bean taste and showcased the different textures of each ingredients.
Baked Cod Fish with Garlic Fried Rice (烧炬鳕鱼蒜香饭)
Basted with glistening savory sauce, the highly prized cod fish with tender and flaky flesh was extremely moreish. The garlic fried rice on the other hand was perfectly executed too, fluffy and heavenly scented with garlic and egg.
Eight Treasure Sweeten Broth (八品糖水)
A soothing sweet dessert soup to end our satisfying dinner~
Verdict: The food at Ee Chinese Cuisine is as good as usual and I can always expect nothing but left with a resonating burps with my partners-in-crime 🙂
