Bottega Mediterranea @ Jalan Ceylon, KL

A skill that I would like to acquire is the art of preparing a mouth-watering cheese board. It’s an art form that involves more than throwing some cheeses and cured meat on a plate.

I’m delighted that I finally tried one of the best cheese and cured meat in KL after drooling over it for months.

The array of cheese and cured meats on the board accompanied with bread and condiments would command a premium price at first glance. But you might be surprised that it only cost RM52.00 for a serving of 2 pax and this rock bottom deal definitely the main pull factor drawing me here!

Bottega Mediterranea located at one of the residential unit along Jalan Ceylon and it’s another treasure to be found at this area apart from Nerovivo, Hubba Hubba & etc.

Started off as an importer of fine Southern European food (particularly from the Italian peninsula) since 2011 and now expanded into a small cafe serves food such as pizza, wraps, sandwiches, pastas, cold cut platters, desserts as well as beverages included wines and beers.

You will be greeted by wall shelves and cabinet fully filled with imported olive oil, truffle oil, pickled peppers, artisanal pastas, sauces, vinegar and many more once you step into the shop.

There are also variety of different cured meats, fresh cheese, aged cheeses, pizza crust, fresh vegetables, frozen food, beer and wine in the chillers. It’s a treasure trove for person who like to cook and I wish I can bring back home everything!

Bottega Mediterranea also provides free home delivery for purchase above RM100 (Klang Valley only),  check out their website HERE.

Menu for your reference.

Further into the back of the shop lies a small dining area furnished with only 3 tables.

The space has a bright yellow wall decorated with mural, some cook books on the shelves and a big chalk board with their menu and some colourful drawings.

The al-fresco seats at the patio is great to get some sunshine.

Lemon Soda (RM4.90) & Americano (RM5.30)

Board Platter for 2 (RM52.00)

The generous portion definitely more than enough for 2 persons. It comprised of 5 types of Italian and Spanish cold cuts and salami, 3 different cheeses, pickled and spread (sun-dried tomato, pickled zucchini & pumpkin spread (I assumed :P) as well as a basket of baguette.

As a avid fan of cold cut and cheese, I was consoled in pure contentment. Sam was munching those cheeses happily too and hubby of course glad to see us enjoyed immensely the platter. Happy Wife = Happy Life! LOL

Verdict: I found the price range for the products is pretty reasonable and certainly a good place to stock up your grocery especially when you planning to have a home party. Imagine your guests tuck into happily the platter filled with cold cut and cheese from different regions of Italy that you prepared  ^__^

A place that I wouldn’t say no for more visits!
