89kilos Cake Bar @ Plaza Arkadia, Desa Park City (Updated – Closed Down)

For a person who have a sweet tooth, this cake shop which was still under renovation grabbed my attention when I passed by during my weekend jog. I made a beeline for it as soon as I knew it is opened for business, right after one of my weekend jog. (◔ڼ◔)
Occupied one of the two storey shoplot at Plaza Arkadia (facing the road), 89kilos Cake Bar has a very spacious dining area with different seating options. From the pallet sofa surrounded by pots of leafy tropical greens at near the entrance which is great for people watching to the high table with bar stools as well as cozy corner furnished with colourful floor cushions and enchanting plants. There’s a cozy corner with couches for lingering on upstairs too.
There were 6-7 choices of cake, as well as cookies and scones on the display counter. I really wish I can have them all but the recent weight gain refrained me to do that. T_T

Lemon Curd (RM14.00)
My favourite choice among the 3 flavours. The cake was adequately moist with fragrant lemony note.
Pistachio Rose (RM16.00)
Studded with generous crushed pistachio nuts, this cake on the other hand was a bit too dry and crumbly for my liking. It was infused with a faint whiff rose.
Earl Grey Nutella (RM14.00)
This was just run off the mill, in terms of flavour and texture.
Scone (RM8.00)
Completed with fruit jam and butter, the texture of the scone was similar to bread, with crumbly crust.
♥Verdict: The size of the cake was markedly smaller and less compatible to the price as I can get bigger slice in any cafe with the same price. The cakes were not as good as I would have hoped, not too shabby but can be enhanced further, I believe.

The cakes look so beautiful. The name of cafe makes me think that if I drop by everyday and eat cake, I will weigh 89 kilos. LOL!

I thought the decor looks fabulous really to complement the equally tempting cakes. 😀 The place looks comfortable for sure.
