Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant @ Damansara Utama, P.J

We had dinner at Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant after our movie at Starling Mall a couple of months ago.

This restaurant has been operating for as long as I can remember. The dining area was heavily decorated with a mix and match of assorted ornaments, framed photos, red lanterns and potted plants. Tables were cramped within the shop area.

Patrons will be spoiled for choice with it’s large menu which offers a mishmash of Japanese, Japanese fusion and western dishes. Classic options such as Sushi, Sashimi, handroll, Udon and Donburi are available for ala carte order and set meal. There are chicken chop, various of salads, as well as Fish and Chips for those who doesn’t fancy Japanese food.

The kitchen team has curated an interesting list of New York Fusion Sushi which is quite visually appealing like the photo above.

Fujiyama offers Sushi Cake also, which I bought (from another Japanese restaurant) for hubby’s birthday a few years ago because he is a weird person that doesn’t eat cake, even his birthday cake. >_<

Scallop Mentai Sushi (RM2.00) & Red Tuna Sushi (RM2.00)

Tamago Sushi (RM0.80), Ebiko Sushi (RM1.50) & Salmon Skin Gunakan (RM1.50)

No minimum order for Sushi that can allow diners to try more variety to their hearts’ content.

Fuji Volcano Roll (Half Roll – RM15.80)

Artfully presented Maki Roll with crab stick and cucumber wrapped with Sushi rice and topped with scallop and prawn, dressed with spicy garlic sauce, as well as mayonnaise. The combination was delightful but I think the mayonnaise was a tad too much. (≧◡≦)

Salmon Don (RM33.80)

The thick cut Salmon was fresh, however I really dispute that non-edible decoration shouldn’t put on food.  ┐( ͡° ʖ̯ ͡°)┌

Tokyo Salmon Head Ramen (RM16.80)

Fish head noodles in Japanese restaurant – this was our conclusion after trying this. LOL

Verdict: Decent food, wide variety and reasonable pricing, Fujiyama is a good option if you’re looking for a restaurant which can cater to multiple preferences.

  • I only know of this place through the many photos of their speciality…the beautifully plated New York roll…don’t know what it’s made of from just the picture though…lol. I also agree that things that cannot be eaten have no business being on the plate. P/S: Sorry, what was your conclusion on the Japanese-style fish head noodles with salmon?

  • Kris, so you knew about this place was from their FB? Those New York rolls, are made from usual Sushi ingredients, but the presentation fancier. 😛
Japanese-style fish head noodles = nothing to shout about, just decent.
