Chinese New Year Set Menu @ Si Chuan Dou Hua, ParkRoyal Hotel

2 more days, 2 more days, we will celebrate our Chinese New Year in 2 more days! Let’s continue the lou sang marathon, shall we?

Today we will have some hot & spicy Si Chuan cuisines, best to perk you up at the gloomy weather recently. *Where is my Mr. Sunny?” >.<

Eight Treasures Tea
I will never fail to have the signature Eight Treasures Tea from Si Chuan Dou Hua whenever I dine in here. Consist of red dates, wolfberries, chrysanthemum, dried longans, dried lily buds, Jasmine tea leave, ‘mai dong’(麦冬) & rock sugar.

Tropical Fruit Yee Sang (鲜果鱼生)
Do you notice that there are more ingredients on this plate of Yee Sang if compare to what we normally had? There were fresh julienned fruit! Although it’s without the sliced raw fish, but I felt more healthier with those fruits!

Clockwise from left: Mango, Kiwi, Water Apple & Pomelo, Pear

Clockwise from left: Dragon Fruit, Strawberry, Kiwi, Honeydew.

Let’s toss for health, wealth & happiness for this coming Rabbit Year!

Braised Shark’ s Fin with Fish Maw and Crab Roe in Superior Stock (蟹皇花胶翅)
Served pipping hot under the lit candle this seafood soup was abundant in fish maw, crab meat and shark’s fin that had been simmered to perfection. Thick in texture and rich in flavor.

Steamed Chicken with Garlic and Preserved Chili (泡椒豆瓣鸡)
The smooth & tender chicken drenched in garlicky gravy with lots of chili, this really can stimulated our palate!

Steamed Sea Garoupa with Spicy Mixed Chili Paste (剁椒蒸海斑)
The flesh of this Sea Garoupa was firm & flaky and the chopped chili really packs a nice fiery punch.

Wok-fried Prawns with Golden Crispy Oat (金沙麦香虾)
The sizable prawns was fried the tossed with the sticky & savoury sauce then topped with crispy oat, oh…so divine~

Braised Broccoli and Dried Oysters with Dried Scallop on Steamed Egg White (水蛋蚝士发菜西兰花)
A significant symbolic dish that will appear frequently in most of the Chinese New Year food, what make this different was the steam egg white beneath, very silky soft indeed~

Fried Rice with Baby Abalone (鲍鱼仔炒饭)
The cute tiny abalone was chewy but the fried rice was a tad too dry for my liking.

Fried Glutinous Rice Cake on Crispy Lotus Root (莲藕炸年糕)
The sticky rice cake & the crispy thin sliced lotus root surprisingly a good match 🙂

Hop into an auspicious Rabbit New Year at Si Chuan Dou Hua, enjoy a bountiful feast here!
