St. Patrick’s Day Festival 2011 @ Deutsches Gasthaus 5

Ladies & Gentlemen, please mark your calender as Deutsches Gasthaus 5 @ Bandar Menjalara will be having a GUINNESS® St. Patrick’s Party on this Wednesday ~ 9th March 2011 from 9pm to 12 midnight!!!! I was invited to do the food review on the special menu that will be available on that day, let’s have a sneak peak of what are in the menu~

Omellette with Bacon
The omellette was served on a lettuce leafy. I love the bacon bites, it enhanced the flavor of the omellette 🙂

Thousand Island Tomatoes with Mixed Seafood Filling
Look at the inviting red tomatoes, so juicy & not to mention the savoury seafood filling, definitely whet our appetite for the next dish.


Beef Goulash Stew
It’s my 1st time having Beef Goulash & I can tell you that it have won my heart! The gravy is so flavorsome, mopped with the accompanied dumpling, I’m sure the plate will be cleaned till you can see your reflection ^^ The beef was tender & well braised.

Braised Pork Ribs with Guinness® Sauce
This dish disappeared in a jiffy! I think is the power of the Black Magic, hehe ^^
The ribs were soft & fall-off-the bone easily, the Guinness® sauce with hint of sweetness did complement it well.

Pork Fillet with Guinness® Sauce & Bacon Cabbage
This was my least favorite that night as the pork fillet was a tad too tough for my liking but the bacon cabbage was palatable.

Guinness® Chicken with BBQ Sauce
The well marinated boneless chicken thigh was perfectly grilled & it was awesomely tasty with bursting flavor!

Last but no least, a sweet conclusion to a splendid Guinness® infused exclusive menu.

Strawberry Ice Cream Apple Pie
The warm crumbly apple pie topped with cold strawberry ice cream is a perfect match!

Tiramisu
The alcohol taste was a bit too overwhelming & it tasted too bitter for my liking. In my opinion, dessert should taste SWEET 😛

Vanilla Ice Cream Pancake
Arrived in an aesthetically -pleasant manner. While my companions complaint about the thickness of the pancake, I’m OK with it 🙂

Other than the special menu for St. Patrick Day celebration, we have the chance to sample some of the Deutsches Gasthaus 5 signature dishes.

Pork Knuckle
Lovely crackly skin sheathing tender meat & melt-on-tongue fats, this has gotten me really ecstatic~~
The most affordable pork knuckle if compare to some other places that I know, you will be pleasantly surprised by the price!!!

Homemade Pasta Nero
Homemade ink squid pasta served with sizable fresh prawns was full of garlicky flavor & the bird’s eye chili (cili padi) really pack a nice fiery punch!
