Bean Brothers @ Sunway Damansara, P.J

I only realized that I haven’t write about this cafe when my friends mentioned about it during our recent gathering.

PS: This visit was on February 2020.

Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, Bean Brothers at Sunway Damansara is their first overseas outpost, then followed by the second outlet at The Linc, Kuala Lumpur.

It’s location is slightly hidden in an industrial area within the neighbourhood of Sunway Rymba Hills. The cafe stirring up an urban industrial design with fading grayish tone, white exposed brick walls,  hanging light bulbs, dangling cables and dark steel pillars.  The bar counter underneath the large opening between the ground and first floor steal the limelight of the whole setting of this place. Unfortunately, the first floor was temporary closed during our visit, hence the missing of the signature photo of most cafe patrons which featuring the bird’s eye view from the “hole” to the baristas’ counter.

With a well equipped coffee roasting plant in Korea, Bean Brothers roasts their coffee beans and sends them directly to all Bean Brothers cafes, online customers, their wholesale partners. The coffee menu offers four different coffees, two being signature blends (Black Suit blend and Velvet White blend) and the other two are monthly single-origin coffee.

Flat White (RM12.00)

Big Bro (RM34.00)

Fully loaded breakfast platter with usual fare of egg of your choice, sourdough bread, hash brown, button mushrooms, sausages, grilled tomato and mesclun salad. The chickpeas in bolognese sauce and yorkshire pudding perked up a little bit the boring breakfast combination.  (^∀^)

Banger and Mashed (RM28.00)

Creamy and chunky skin-on mashed potato, smoked chicken sausage, beef bacon, grilled tomato wedges and green peas, served with rich and savoury garlic ju’.

We only ordered two mains to be shared among three of us, so that I can have room for these delectable cakes. ꈍ .̮ ꈍ

Caramel Macadamia (RM12.00)

♥Verdict: Overall, it was a rather good brunch session, food was above average. Food selection wasn’t really extensive, other than the above dishes that we had from the brunch selection, there were croissant with assorted fillings (ham & cheese, avocado), pasta (Vege Pesto Olio, Peranakan Olio, Butter Prawn Pasta), burger (Roti Bro, Beefing Up Burger) and salads.

Revisit?: One of the options in my can-be-considered list.
