GK Organic Farm @ Dengkil, Selangor

I have been waiting for the best timing to blog about this trip since last year but there’s no end in sight for Malaysia’s Covid-19 battle as the daily new cases reported remained on an upward trend. So, I think it’s better to write about my GK Organic Farm visit now before my memory fade away. (´∀`)

This visit was happened on last year March which I was attracted by the photos shared by a couple of friends on their social media.

The not-so-obvious signage at the entrance.

Located at Dengkil, Selangor, GK Organic Farm has been growing organic vegetables and fruits by using their own made compost and fertilizers since 1994. Other than the farming activities, GK Organic Farm also offers guided farm tour and organic luncheon which pre-booking is required.

Price we paid for the farm tour + luncheon (during March 2020):-

Adult – RM79.00/pax

Senior citizen – RM68.00/pax

Kid – RM45.00/pax

The assembly hall.

My mom and her cucus. (☆ω☆*)

Complimentary flower teas for the visitors.

Good range of merchandise featuring their homemade products made from organic ingredient and they are also free of colorings, MSG, flavorings, processing aids, preservatives and any other additives. Their products can be purchased via Shopee too. I bought their Hot Chili Sambal and Organic Chilli Salted Vegetable With Sesame after trying them during the lunch session, love it!

Have a peek on the part of the farm that we were going to tour later.

Briefing and sharing session by the owner on the organic farming and environment.

Snacks for us during the session.

Straw hats were provided as well.

Everyone was encouraged to go barefoot during the tour, to allows electrons from the Earth’s surface to neutralize free radicals in the human body responsible for many diseases.

Their compost is made by using the organic matters which are obtained from their farm such as cut grass, plant residue, and food processing residue. Only a small percentage (˂ 1%) of animal manure is added to the compost as a ‘starter’ for decomposition.

You can’t find any green house or planting house here as they believe that a healthy plant can adapt to various environmental conditions. Green house construction can trigger many issues such as soil erosion, green house effect, and increase the consumption of plastic.

Interesting hands-on experience on sweet potato digging, with bare hands!

After the farm tour, we were rewarded with an astonishing spread of organic “from garden to table” luncheon (vegetarian). The food definitely shouted quality and wholesomeness. They were not only visually appealing but flavours also passed with flying colours. Thumbs up!

Some of the fresh produces I brought back home that day.

♥Verdict: It’s a fun and educational outing for both adults and kids. We learn new knowledge, got the opportunity to get closer to our mother nature and happy with our quality family time spent together. If you’re not fancy of outdoor activity (the farm tour), the luncheon is available for booking too.
