Traditional Baked Mooncakes
The series include lotus paste (with or without salted egg yolk), low sugar white lotus paste (with or without salted egg yolk), mixed nuts, red bean paste and premium egg custard.
Mei-Xin Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste (Olive Seed) Mooncake 美心低糖榄仁白莲蓉月饼
Made with rigorous selection of ingredients, the lotus paste filling is made from lotus seed from Hunan in China. The creamy-smooth lotus paste filling has a delicate fragrance and not overly sweet, the olive seed provided an extra nutty taste and crunchy factor to it.
Mei-Xin Mixed Nuts Mooncake 美心伍仁月饼
Made with good quality almonds, walnuts, olive seeds, sesame and melon seeds. I do not fancy mixed nuts mooncake as I found that it tend to be has strong winter melon taste which is too sickening sweet. But Mei-Xin’s version has a pleasant nutty flavors, texture wise, not too chewy or gluey.
Mei-Xin Premium Egg Custard Mooncake 美心尊贵奶黄月饼
Imagine your “lao sar” bao filling in a thin crust baked mooncake~~ The egg custard was awesomely tasty with bursting flavors! The concoction of salted egg yolk and creamy coconut milk is so impeccable; dense texture and the aroma and flavors was heady and glorious. One bite & I was taken!
PS: Re-heating in microwave for 10 seconds before serving for the best texture of the egg custard filling.
The coolest Captain Cool in Hong Kong TVB drama”Triump In The Skies II” as spokeperson of Mei-Xin’s Snowy Series. Have a guess what’s his favourite flavor?
Mei-Xin Snowy Series
These Mei-Xin Snowy Series were so different with our “bing pei” mooncake in terms of the texture of the skin. Mei-Xin’s version is chewy and very similar with “mochi”. Based on consumer research findings last year, Mei-Xin’s Snowy Series was voted as “Most Chewy Crust” and “Overall Most Tasty Snowy Mooncake” at Hong Kong.
