Nuan Café 暖の咖啡館 @ Sungai Buloh

Their wall of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves certainly a bookworm’s delight. I always dream of having this in my house to keep my cookbooks collection and this was the pull factor that attract me when I first read a review online about Nuan Café 暖の咖啡館 at Sungai Buloh.

Located at the most unlikely place in Sungai Buloh industrial area, surrounded by automobile spare parts factories, car workshops and warehouses, Nuan Café seem to have casted its spell onto cafe hoppers to flock to the outlet.

Other than the Instagramable two-storey-high bookshelves and the yellow glass panel door and windows, the minimalist setting and the reasonably priced food list are bound to lure the faithful followers.

Combination of cement, wood and metal furnishings in the setting, sunlight from the windows basks the space and extra touches of greenery, which create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Small corner filled with books and toys for the little ones.

The coffee bar at the mezzanine floor.

More seating on upper floor.

Flat White (RM11.00) & Chamomile Dream (RM10.00) – 2 cups, extra cup RM1 each

Luncheon Meat Edamame Egg Don (RM12.00)

Simple ingredients of luncheon meat, omelet, Edamame, cherry tomatoes and pineapple cubes (canned) that capable to provide satisfactory to both palate and tummy. Look at those thick cut luncheon meat, happiness on every bite. ^__^

Otak-Otak Egg Don (RM16.00)

Blanketed with omelet, the rice was layered with Otak-Otak (spiced ground fish meat) and generously drizzled with sweet savoury sauce. Portion was big and it offered a home-cooked comfort food taste one can ask for.

Dutch Baby Pancake (RM20.00)

Served pipping hot on a cast iron pan and we were a little caught off guard when it arrived, not expecting it to be a such large portion. Definitely a value-for-money portion, I must say.

The Dutch Baby Pancake had slightly burnt edges, the texture was crusty on the exterior with soft and airy interior (no-so-fluffy though). Flavour was rather bland but the served along honey and butter came as rescuer. The pancake was topped with two rashers of bacon, grilled cheery tomatoes and perfectly fried sunny side up.

Verdict: Lovely environment, good food, warm service and affordable price range are what you can expect to find here. Braised pork rice (Lu Rou Fan) is another must try dish here, I certainly wouldn’t say no to make a return to try it out!
