R for Ramen @ Bandar Menjalara, Kepong

The biggest Ramen portion that I’ve eaten so far…… *burps (@_@)

 

Nestled in the F&B hub of Kepong – Bandar Menjalara, R for Ramen’s dining area in long shape is bright and cozy.

 

Expect to see Japanese Ramen with different toppings and soup bases in their menu.  Soup options included original pork broth (Shiro), black garlic (Kuro) and spicy broth (Aka), with toppings such as the giant Prawn Tempura (photo above), Chashu, Braised Pork, Teriyaki Chicken, Smoked Duck, Mala Pork, Soft Shell Crab and Salmon (from RM18-28), just to name a few. Not a Ramen worshiper? Fret not, there are wide selection of rice set (Don), included Spicy Karaage, Saba, Hamburg, Pork Yakiniku, Unagi, Curry Cheese Ebi (from RM17-32) and many more. Single dishes and desserts like Miso Soup, Mini Salada, Gyoza, Egg Chicken Katsu, Tamago Mentai, Kani Karaage, Ika Geso, ice cream sandwich and cream puffs complete the menu.

 

Yakibuta Ramen – Shiro (RM28.00)

The huge portion of noodles in perfect al-dente texture submerged in luscious and creamy pork bone broth. The tell-tale milky broth had all the essential columns ticked, richly imbued with savouriness from the bones. The braised pork belly was well braised and tender to the last bite. Together with bamboo shoot, shredded wood ear fungus, Ajitama, Nori, chopped spring onion and sprinkles of sesame seeds that makes it a satisfying bowl of Ramen.

 

Chashu Ramen – Kuro (RM23.00)

Hubby got his usual order of black garlic flavour Ramen. The broth was equally tantalizing but the garlic flavour wasn’t too pronounced if compared with THIS & THIS. 

 

Pork Yakiniku Set (RM22.00)

Generous portion of stir fried pork slices with plenty of sliced onion in sweet savoury sauce. The Don set consisted of sides of Kimchi, Miso Soup, pickles and salad.

 

Verdict: Reasonably priced food with good portion, I wouldn’t say no for a revisit.
