Shakariki 432″ @ Publika
Shakariki432 located in Publika, an Izakaya-style restaurant that offer wide variety of Japanese food to pair with their extensive selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with a particular focus on Japanese beers, Sake and Whisky.
The Japanese gastropub had a casual and laid-back atmosphere. One of the walls were entirely covered with the food photos, red paper lanterns and sake bottles, further adding to the overall feel of authenticity. Al-fresco seating also available at Shakariki 432″ .
Specializes in Osaka IZakaya fares, The extensive menu had a bit of everything. It’s a party box of choices – appetizers, salads, Sashimi, skewers, stir-fried, Osaka signature deep fried skewers, Tempura, grilled stuffs, Teppan, Sushi, hot pot, Don, noodles (soup & dry Ramen, Udon), Wagyu Beef (steak, Yukke, seared Wagyu & Hamberg) and desserts. The beverage list was equally large with assorted choices of beers (Sapporo Premium Beer), Highballs (Suntory Highball, Jim Beam Highball), Whisky (Suntory, Jim Beam), cocktails (Gin Tonic, Moscow Mule), Chuhai (Kinmaya Lelon Hai, Kinmiya Calpis Hai), Sake, Shochu and Ume Shu. There’s even dice game promotion for Highball, for example, if you get two dice with same number, you’re entitled to free regular size Highball.
Jim Beam Highball (RM15.00 – Happy Hour, regular price RM18.00)
Radish Plum Salad (RM15.00)
Served with green Perilla dressing, the crisp texture of fresh shredded radishes and carrots, as well as the tangy flavor of plums, all brought together by the savoury minty green Perilla dressing.
Kushi Katsu Omakase (RM30.00/10pcs)
We had this assorted Osaka signature deep fried skewers which consisted of onion, lotus root, brinjal, Shishamo, quail eggs and etc.
Kaki Furai (RM26.00/5pcs)
The deep fried breaded oysters were nicely executed, tender and juicy.
Ika No Maruyaki (RM22.00)
Although I’m totally understand the fact of “images shown in the menu are for illustration purposes only”, but when you really encountered such situation, it’s different story…..
(ー_ー)
The grilled squid was rather bland but luckily it wasn’t overcooked.
Homemade Grilled Dumpling (RM18.00/7pcs)
Decent but nothing to shout about.
Beef Tongue with Shallot Sauce (RM24.00)
Thinly sliced beef tongue was stir fried with a sweet savoury sauce, great to pair with chilled beer! (although the shallot flavour wasn’t as pronounced).
Karaage (RM16.00)
Who can say no to the tender and succulent pieces of freshly fried boneless chicken? It’s definitely not me…. ◑.◑
Kamatama Abura Soba (RM25.00)
The Tokyo style dry Ramen was topped with scorched Chasu, chopped spring onions, shredded seaweed, Ajitama and bamboo shoot, tossed with a savory and umami-rich sauce. The flavour was pungent from the complex blend of sauce ingredients, it’s not bad but just a tad odd for our liking.
Meibutsu Curry Udon (RM25.00)
Buta Okonomiyaki (RM30.00)
Osaka style Okonomiyaki with pork, served on a cast iron plate to retain the temperature. Consisted of flour mixture, cabbage, egg, onion and pork, the flavor was enhanced by the sweet sauce, mayonnaise and “dancing” bonito flakes.
Verdict: The food was less exciting. Safe to say, there’ll be no repeat visit of this place. 😛

Haiz! Too bad the food was not good. You know, I used to find those dancing bonito flakes very scary, the way they move as if alive. I used to have that at a Japanese restaurant (now closed) and apparently someone who can “see things” saw a few spirits hanging around in the restaurant. After that I dare not go. LOL!
PH, haha, I never expect the bonito flakes can be related to a creepy story, LOL
Visually, the food looks decent but sorry that the taste didn’t match up to the (higher) prices though. >_<
Kris, you’re absolutely correct! This meal definitely not cheap but the bill paid did’t justify with the satisfaction. 🙁
Now i’m curious what kinda sotong pics they put in menu. lol
KY, definitely better than what served to us. =.=”
