St Giles Wembley @ Penang
On my recent trip to Penang I’ve asked for hotel recommendations from Ken of Ken Hunts Food and he gave me some choices which included a few new hotels such as G Hotel Kelawai, St Giles Wembley and Hotel Neo+. After browsing thru the hotel’s website, St Giles Wembley won my heart for the gorgeously designed room, good reviews from hotel booking website and its strategic location (for food hunting of course).
St Giles Wembley is located at Jalan Magazine, Georgetow, diagonally opposite 1st Avenue mall & Komtar. There are quite some good eateries around this area too. Ample of parking lots are available in the hotel building.
We arrived on circa 3pm but was informed that our room was not ready. The staff apologized sincerely to me and invited us to enjoy some refreshments at the waiting area.
The waiting area at lobby is equipped with comfy sofas and free flow of beverages and kid’s favourite pop corn were provided.
The hotel lobby boasted simplicity yet stylishly designed. Wooden details blended harmoniously with earth tone marble flooring and walls. I like how the whole place receives great illumination of natural light from the glass doors and windows.
The elegant chandelier at the hotel lobby.
We were informed that our room still not ready yet after approximately 20 minutes of waiting and we were treated for a drink at Lobby Lounge.
Echoing the soothing theme of the lobby, the lounge is dressed in earthy tone too with fully carpeted floor, comfortable couches and artistry pieces adorning the wall. This is indeed an ideal spot to unwind with a glass of cocktail or a cuppa or two for a relax chit chat session.

Not sure what’s the problem with the room we’ve booked because we were offered to an free upgrade from superior room to deluxe room. After a swift check in process, we were ushered to our room at 15th floor.
Reminder: A refundable deposit of RM100.00 is charged upon check in.
Our room is quite a good size dressed in a subdued colour palette with a mixture of carpeted and natural hardwood floor. The flowery motif wall contrasting finely with the wooden tone panels and fittings.
The King size bed was divine, plush mattress, smooth cotton sheet and silky soft pillows for a blissful slumber.
Equipped with huge LCD TV and complimentary broadband internet access.
Working desk
Wardrobe completed with bathrobes, indoor slippers, digital safe, iron and board.
Coffee and tea making facilities, mini bar and complimentary drinking water.
The bathroom was fairly large in size which includes a separate rainforest shower and bathtub.
Everything was spick and span, the bathroom also came with hair dryer.
Bathroom amenities
View from our room, Komtar, 1st Avenue Mall, Hotel Jen and sea view from far.
After a energy recharged nap, we were ready to check out their swimming pool.
Look who’s over excited for her favourite activity!
Salt-water infinity pool overlooking the city and kid wading pool.
A refreshing dip with Sam.

I haven’t too Sean until my friend introduce me 😛 There are St. Giles at KL too which located at The Gardens
I think they still new so you have to wait them to clean the room. Anyhow, it’s a bonus to get free upgrade!!
I waited for almost 1 hour wor…cannot be lah, hehe 😛 But compensate with free upgrade & I was happy with it 😛
Mayb your room kena given to other guest before you arrived. Nvm…upgrade to deluxe lagi better. The room is so spacious n bed looks comfy. What was the room rate?
I booked it at Agoda, around 300+ if not mistaken 🙂
