Uncle Chua’s Prawn Noodle @ Medan Putra Business Centre, Kepong
I’m glad that I can find a good bowl of Prawn Mee/Hokkien Mee (at least to my standard) in my area which can satisfy my craving without going too far. Although the ones (THIS & THIS) that I previously tried weren’t too far away from my place too. 😛
Dining environment at Uncle Chua’s Prawn Noodle was simple, bright and airy. However, parking can be slightly challenging here as there are plenty of eateries in this commercial area and JPJ office also situated on the same row.
The menu – Apart from the signature Prawn Noodle (with different add-on ingredients), it offered other local delicacies such as Lam Mee, Pork Paste Noodle (dry/soup), Nasi Lemak, toasts and even donut, muffin, croissant and red bean sweet soup.
Prawn Noodles (Small – RM9.90)
The Prawn Noodle came with all necessary ingredients of prawns, sliced lean pork, hard boiled egg, bean sprouts, Kangkung (water spinach) and topped with fried onion.
The broth was rich in taste with good dose of savouriness and sweetness from the prawn shells and heads. It also offered an adequate heat to boost the flavour further. Between three of them, my preference still leans towards Piau Kee Prawn Mee but Uncle Chua’s certainly a notable alternative if I don’t wish to travel too far for Prawn Mee. (ˇ⊖ˇ)
Verdict: I think I’m quite “You Sek San” (a Cantonese proverb that describe a person who always surrounded by good food) in the first quarter of year 2023 because I’ve been trying a few rather awesome food which I have no hesitation to recommend to you all, Uncle Chua’s Prawn Noodle is one of them. ^ω^

I’ve tried this Uncle Chua via ShopeeFood and, like you, I find that it’s a decent prawn mee but not enough to dethrone my favourite one in Red Leaf (now Piau Kee). ^_~ I’ve got to say your dine-in one has a bit more prawn oil than the one I got via ShopeeFood though.
Kris, no one defeat Piau Kee, so far…. haha!
