Weil Hotel @ Ipoh, Perak
According to the wise “Google”, WEIL Hotel Ipoh is a chic property featuring multiple eateries, plus a rooftop gastro bar & an infinity pool. Well, I have to wholeheartedly agree after my short staycation last month.
WEIL Hotel is located in the bustling heart of Ipoh and adjoins Ipoh Parade, one of the biggest malls in the city. The hotel is accessible to various attractions including the famous Tong Sui Street (Dessert Street) which is a few minutes’ walk away and the Ipoh Railway Station is only 10 minutes away. Weil Hotel’s strategic location has driven it as one of the most preferred hotels for business and leisure travelers.
The hotel lobby certainly has the feel of spaciousness with high ceiling and different waiting areas furnished with chic Nordic style furniture. The soaring high glass windows allow sufficient sunlight to bask the place.
The hotel boasts a total of 313 contemporary guestrooms and suites with meticulously selected furnishings complementing the contemporary design and incredible views of the town and the surrounding limestone hills.
Our Premier Room was huge, equipped with a king size bed and an additional bed for Sam. The room adopted a minimalist interior, dressed in a mixture of neutral warm colors as well as wooden furnishing, which exuded a soothing and serene vibe.
The king bed was plush and utterly comfortable with large fluffy pillows.
Well-designed, the room included a modern work space with wireless internet access as well as the usual phone and outlet adaptors for our gadgets. The room was really spacious and there were even a day bed and sofa.
Our large window with picturesque Ipoh town and limestone hills view.
Usual room amenities included bathrobes, indoor slippers, safe deposit box, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, minibar, coffee & tea facility, snacks, laundry service pack and alarm clock. By the doorway area, a full length mirror is available on the bathroom door.
The room is appointed with a decadent bathroom fitted with a freestanding bathtub, rain shower as well as handheld shower head. The vanity unit has all the markings of essential bathroom amenities such as fluffy bath and hand towels, soaps, toothbrush, shower gels, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, shaver and cream as well as shower cap. They even provided bath salt for greatest bathtub soaking pleasure.
One can actually view the bathroom through the glass wall but there is also the option of having the blind down to have privacy.
WEIL Hotel also offers complimentary handy smartphone service the guests whereby the guests get to enjoy unlimited international calls to certain countries, free internet access, speed dial to hotel services and latest travel finds.
Taking a dip at the rooftop infinity pool is a must for Sam.
Plenty of pool loungers and comfortable sofas on the terrace.
Panoramic view of Ipoh skyline from the rooftop.
Gym on 6th floor.
There are four on-site restaurants and lounges in Hotel – Tiffin (All Day Dining Restaurant), Yuk Sou Hin (Chinese fine dining), The Deck Gastrobar (rooftop dining bar) and Tea Lounge (Afternoon Tea & Weekend High Tea Buffet).
We had our breakfast at Tiffin (lobby level) but the buffet spread wasn’t really impressive. Choices were quite limited, there were fried noodles, fried rice, Nasi Lemak, sausages, eggs of your choices, Roti Canai with curries, bread, pastries, muffins, porridge, salad, cereals, waffles, pancakes and fruits.

Verdict: I like its great location and our room was in top notch cleanliness. It was indeed a pleasant stay at WEIL Hotel, Ipoh and would highly recommend if you’re planning to visit Ipoh.
