Yen Can Cook: Steamed Pork Ribs with Bean Paste

Pork ribs is my favourite porcine part and I always keep some in my fridge.This steamed pork ribs is one of the easiest way to prepare the ribs and the ingredients needed are very simple. (Refer HERE for another pork ribs recipe)


Ingredients

300g pork ribs

Marinade

2 cloves of garlic

1 thumb-sized ginger

1.5 tablespoons fermented bean paste (tauchu)

1/2 tablespoon oyster sauce

1/2 tablespoon Shaoxing Wine

1 tablespoon water

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon corn flour

Pinch of salt & pepper

Chili (optional)

Step 1: Put the pork ribs into a pot of water and bring to a boil, to remove blood and impurities. Remove, drain and set aside.

Step 2: In a bowl mix all the marinade ingredients, add pork ribs and mix well until all the pork ribs are evenly coated with the mixture. Set aside for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3: In a wok, bring water to a boil then place the marinated pork ribs in the steamer and steam over middle high heat for 25 minutes or until cooked.

Step 4: Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve.
