Cafe Lafayette @ Damansara Uptown
Veni, Vedi, Edi (I came, I saw, I ate)
Sorry but I could not resist this “pun” after dining at this lovely Italian cafe nestled in a foodie neighborhood of Damansara Uptown.

Cafe Lafayette located onn the first floor of the shoplot at Damansara Uptown (same row as Fat Spoon Cafe & Beans N Beans).

We were there for lunch on a Saturday and the place was brimming with patrons. We managed to secure the last table near the window.

Heavily adorned with framed photos, posters and knick-knack, Cafe Lafayette has a homey and casual vibe in its ambience. There are comfy long couch and communal table to accommodate patrons in large group. Illumination comes from the hanging light bulbs that impart pale yellowish hue as well as the natural sunlight beaming through the windows.

Green Tea Latte (RM 11.00) & Flat White (RM 9.00)

Hawaiian Chicken Chop (RM 19.90)
A big slab of chicken chop doused in savory brown sauce, topped with fried egg, pineapple, a slice of cheese and cherry. The chicken was meaty and tender. I always like the fruity element in my meat dish, the pineapple provided a pleasant acidity and cut through the richness of the meat and gravy. The mashed potato served along was well executed too, creamy and buttery.

Mushroom Risotto (RM 15.90)

My mushroom risotto scored well in terms of flavors and texture. It was redolent of lots of earthy flavors from the mushroom (button mushroom and oyster mushroom) as well as sweetness of the onion. It was beautifully creamy and the portion was just nice. Although the rice used was not exactly the risotto rice but the texture was perfectly done for my liking, not too soft nor hard.
Verdict: Food we had was above average and we definitely don’t mind to come back to check out more of their menu. They provide event space rental and catering for up to 70 pax too, call them up if you need the service.

Cafe Lafayette

Hmmm…I am tempted to try the risotto. I know if it is not perfectly done, it can be a disaster but from the photo it looks almost perfect.
This can suit you if you like your rice not too hard.
Just this one road is bustling with so many cafes….some good, some not so good! 😉 I’ve not tried this one though.
Ya, many eateries at this row of shop, I’ve tried 3 so far 😛
i’m a fan of risotto, so i might order that dish too 😀
Risotto worth a try, I saw a few other risotto in the menu too and I’ll try it on my next visit.
I am afraid to order risotto as not many places can pull it out successfully but I guess this is one place that is able to do it so I’ll keep that in mind.
This definitely a successful version.
Risotto 被你形容的好好吃,很吸引我!
那就去吃吧,绝对值得你从吧生杀下来PJ 😛
I still could not find a good Risotto in Penang but damansara is far beyond my universe lol
Hmm…. I can’t help u on this. Stay more days for your next KL trip, no more one day trip ok?
