Senya Izakaya @ Publika
I can remember the satisfaction of indulging in the scrumptious Hokkaido Pork Don 2 years back at Senya Dining, 1 Utama Shopping Center. Unfortunately it has closed down but don’t worry as you still can get the same contentment at Senya Izakaya nestled in Publika.

The space is heavily decorated with Japanese influenced ornaments such as posters, dishes name written in Japanese, sake bottles, lanterns and curtains will definitely take you all the way to one of those Izakaya restaurants in Japan. An Izakaya (居酒屋) is a type of informal Japanese pub. They are casual places for after-work drinking.
One can choose to sit at the normal dining tables, banquette seats or at the bar area for some Yakitori grilling actions.

Ordering at Senya is made through an iPad. Just browse through, send order and your food will be served on your table. Service was prompt and attentive.
I apologize for misplaced my receipt, so no proper dishes name and price for this post.

Hokkaido Pork Don (RM23.00)

Tonkatsu Rice Set

The Tonkatsu on the other hand was less satisfying. The thick slab of pork was nicely coated with crispy golden breadcrumbs but the meat was a bit dry and lack of seasoning.

Salmon Sashimi
Fresh and thick cut, no complaint on this.

Udon
Nothing to shout about but a truly safety bet of comfort food.
Verdict:Certainly no hesitation in recommending the Hokkaido Pork Don here. Service was warm and prices are fair, revisit is a must!

Tues – Sat: 12.00pm – 2.30pm, 5.30pm – 10.30pm
Sun: 12.00pm – 2.30pm, 5.00pm – 10.30pm

I didn’t even know that they have closed down the 1-U outlet. I have eaten at the Publika outlet and loved their ambiance. It has very typical Japanese styled decors and food presentation standard. Banzai!
TM, I also thought that the 1U outlet still operating 😛
Looks great all the dishes. Reminds me that I haven’t had Japanese food for quite some time. I love Hokkaido Pork Don, so that is a must order for me.
PH, a must order for me too!
