Hutlista 2 @ Hutan Lipur Sungai Tua, Batu Caves
An ideal picnic location will always to be close to the nature aka secluded nature. But for KL-lites like me, let’s add accessibility and cleanliness.
I’m proud to say that I’ve found the ideal place for me with a mere 30 mins+ away from the city and rather well maintained (err, it better be for the fees it charged.)(-“-)
With numerous good reviews, I’m also ashamed that it took me so long to finally to finally step foot at Hutlista 2. It is located in the Sungai Tua Recreational Forest, within the Selangor State Park which is about 15km from Batu Caves. It’s quite nearby the city for 30 minutes drive uphill.

The park opens from 7.00am to 7.00pm daily, but please call or message them in Facebook to check the availability of site (tapak or gazebo).
We were assigned to one of these cement base (we chose the small base) at Zone C and there are 6 zones (A-F) in Hutlista 2.
These are gazebos sederhana (medium sized) which come with power socket (for the overnight/camping guests).
Prepared simple sandwiches, snacks, fruit and drinks for our picnic. ( ^^)Y
Cool running streams in the tropical rainforest which good for a dip.
Enjoy the serenity in the rapids amid mature rainforest.
Look what I caught? A little prawn that hiding underneath those big rocks!
Such giant leaves can be found just about anywhere at this recreational forest. Unfortunately there were rubbish was all over the place and at the river sides too. ⊙︿⊙

These are big gazebos for larger groups.
We also explore the upstream of the river which has calmer than the area we played at.

Sad to say that the toilet/bathroom was poorly maintained.
♥ Verdict: We enjoyed our water playing session at Hutlista 2 and one can simply spend a few hours here chill and relax with family and friends. Since there are charges for entering the park, crowd are obviously lesser if compared with those with lower / free of charges.

What a nice outing with your family! I never knew about this place. I think a day trip is fine and I am not adventurous enough to camp overnight. Takut lah! LOL!

Well maintained….except for the cleanliness of the toilets (that’s a big turn off) and rubbish strewn all over? Hmmmm……… Nice little picnic snacks you made. P/S: That thing you caught doesn’t look like a prawn, more like a very tiny tiny tiny lobster thingy…..lol! 😀
Kris, this place is considered quite ok in terms of cleanliness because I’ve seen river/stream which are dirtier than this. At least the water is clean, hehe 😛
