Twins Signature Roast Duck @ Damansara Uptown
Twins Signature Roast Duck is a fairly new addition in the bustling Damansara Utama aka Damansara Uptown’s terrain. Get to know this restaurant during one of my usual blog hopping one day and the positive reviews of their food resulted in this visit.
The restaurant has a simple white themed interior, bright and non air-conditioned, completed with marble top round table and wooden stools.
As its name implies, roasted duck is their signature and of course there are other food offered in the menu too. Roasted meat included roasted pork (Siew Yoke) and BBQ pork (Char Siew) are available to pair with rice or Wonton Mee. Porridge such as pumpkin porridge with minced meat, mussel & peanut porridge, as well as small selection of ala carte dishes (sweet & sour pork, Hakka Yong Tau Foo, braised eggplant, preserved radish omelet, Kangkung Belacan, braised duck with plum sauce, black vinegar pork trotter, & etc) are available too.
Double Combo Rice (RM11.00)
We had the roasted duck and Char Siew, but initially I wanted to have roasted pork and Char Siew but wrote wrongly on the order chit. T.T
The roasted duck definitely not on a stellar level in my book. It had a rather tender meat, but the flavour was a little subdued. The skin wasn’t as crispy as I would have hoped and part of the skin was burnt.
We were given some fatty Char Siew, but luckily they were quite well roasted with caramelized crust and good ratio of sweet and savoury note.
The roasted duck skin was not only burnt (some part), I also found unremoved feather! o_O
Signature Roast Duck with Noodle (RM9.50)
The Wonton Mee served was a bit thinner than what we usually have. It did not have the springy/ al-dente texture that I prefer (maybe 5 seconds less for the cooking time?) and the sauce concoction didn’t impress me as well.
Wonton Noodle (RM7.50)
The Wonton was nothing to pinpoint but nothing to praise either.
Braised Spicy Sour Chinese Mustard (RM7.50)
A rather good serving with good portion of well braised vegetables and the flavour was adequately pronounced.
♥ Verdict: The food we had was less impressive (perhaps the roasted duck we got wasn’t the best part like drumstick/thigh), but will I make a second visit? Maybe not. (^_^;)

So you came to the same conclusion about the roast duck. Since you have tried the wanton noodles and the sentiment is not positive, then I no need to try lah. LOL!
PH, don’t lah, you need to try it out yourself only know whether the food suit you or not mah… 😛
I do remember reading PH’s post that she wasn’t too impressed with the roast duck here. It seems this is from the same owners of the (now closed) London Duck in Gurney Plaza.
