THE 7 Grocer x Café @ Sunway SPK Damansara
Located in Sunway SPK Damansara, a mixed residential area adjacent to modern township of Desa ParkCity, and neighbouring Bandar Menjalara and Kepong Baru, THE 7 Grocer x Café is my new discovered breakfast/brunch spot.
THE 7 Grocer x Café, the name very much explains that it’s a grocer + cafe concept which is a food truck and grocery store combination, in this case. Food preparation is done on the food truck while the seating are arranged in the grocery shop and walkway in front of the shop. The capacity was very limited (3 tables and several counter seats).

Kitchen was manned by these two youngsters.
Menu wasn’t too extensive but the price range was definitely won’t burn a hole in your pocket.
Some ready-to-eat food such as packed Nasi Lemak,Tom Yum Meehoon and Dim Sum were available too.
Cappuccino (RM3.00? or 4.00?)
It’s add-on price with purchase of any main dish order.
Bolognese Spaghetti (RM15.90)
It’s Sam’s usual order of pasta Bolognese. A rather well executed rendition with fresh tomatoes, minced meat and shaved cheese. The pasta was tangy and scored well in terms of texture too, not over-cooked and remain a good bite. The portion is sufficiently enough for her as well.
The 7 Big Breakfast (RM24.00)
There were a juicy and well seasoned sausage (not sure if it was pork or chicken), crispy bacon, tender scrambled egg, a mini croissant, baked beans, salad and cut fruit.
Sourdough Sandwich (RM12.90)
Sandwiched in between the sourdough bread were soft tender scrambled egg, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and cheese. It was decent but would have appreciated if the bread was toasted.
Verdict: Service was friendly, we had an enjoyable and quiet Saturday brunch that day and the plus point is, it’s not far from us. Although there was no breakfast/brunch crowd like any other cafes or eateries, but with the limited seat, the cafe tends to fill up easily.

What a unique concept…to share a space with a grocer to cut down on expenses. I think there’s quite a selection seeing that they’re cooking in such a small space (I wonder where they get their water supply from). Even with only a few seating, there’s still quite a lot to do for the two of them who have to clean, serve and clean up.
Kris, the dishes on the menu are quite easy to cook and I think they get the water supply from the shop and I believe the grocer and the cafe is under same management (family business). Actually there was a madam who took care of the cashier and ordering.
