Taste Tea House @ Taman Fadason, K.L 半日茶闲

I’m not a coffee drinker and I can’t take any coffee based beverages because they will give me insomnia. So, I have quite a limited choices when comes to order a drink in an eatery and tea always my option. It can be Chinese tea (preferably green and white teas), flower teas, fruit teas or herbal teas.

There are enough of cafe hopping posts in my blog, how about a tea house visit this time?

Located on first floor of a shoplot in Taman Fadason Business Park, we were greeted by a big U-shape wooden counter, completed with a few chairs where the patrons can interact with the tea barista.

There are two seating areas, separated by the counter, the tatami seats is near the window while the other side is furnished with usual tables and chairs. The tea house is sparingly decorated with tea related ornaments but the laid-back and casual vibe is something that I certainly enjoy.

The tea house offers a good range of merchandise, included assorted tea leaves, gift sets, tea sets and incense burners.

There are startling array of teas to choose from and each types of tea comes with tea leaves sample, as well as the details such as country of origin, variety, taste and aroma of it.

Jasmine Green Tea (RM15.00/pot – refillable)

Price is charged according to the variety of the tea leaves (RM15.00 – RM30.00/pot).

Our tea was constantly refilled, the service was attentive and friendly.

Other than the wide selection of Chinese teas, there are cold brewed teas, flower teas and milk teas too.

To elevate your tea session experience, the menu features a decent list of Chinese style pastries, snacks and even small selection of Dim Sum to pair with the tea.

Pastry in assorted flavours (RM6.00/each)

Jasmine Tea Jelly (RM6.00)

The tea house also prepare some card and board games for the customers and with only RM1.00, one can practice your calligraphy skill by transcribing the Buddhist sutras.

I did part of the sutra here and completed it at home.

Not bad right?  (꒡ ꜙ ꒡)

Verdict: Taste Tea House unquestionably a pleasant space for lingering and I wouldn’t mind spending my whole afternoon here. If you’re looking for a cozy, less crowded place to chill out, this can be a decent option.

  • This is interesting! I never knew about such tea houses, I only heard of Purple Cane. I prefer coffee to tea but I find cold green tea very refreshing. It would be nice to experience this tea house on a lazy afternoon with those colorful pastries and small bites.

  • I’d be completely lost in a teahouse…and wouldn’t know what to order (+ they’re in Chinese) as I’ve very little experience with tea. Eh, I would have thought they’d have a lot of speciality teas here but yet you ordered something very common…jasmine green tea…lol!
