Berbuka Puasa @ Big Apple Restaurant, Berjaya Times Square Hotel
Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is ushering in Ramadan Al-Mubarak this year with its “Ramadan Di Hati” that signify the essence and true spirit of peace, forgiveness and togetherness at the forefront this holy month.
This Ramadan calls for a moment of inner reflection and enlightenment, even as we feast our senses with appetizing buka puasa cuisine. On the 14th floor of the hotel sits Big Apple Restaurant, the understated all-day dining outlet that is offering over 200 types of dishes daily all through Ramadan.
“Stalls” featuring different local cuisine lining up right in front of the restaurant.
The buffet spread in the Big Apple.
The dining area was transformed into the traditional rumah kampong décor complemented by lush green and brown wood tones.
I’ll prefer a seating near the huge glass panel window to overlook the busy street of Jalan Imbi at 14th floor above.
While you feast, you will be entertained by the Ghazal live band throughout the night.
The outstanding variety of cuisine options for the Ramadan Buffet this year was carefully crafted by two accomplished chefs, the hotel’s Malay Cuisine Chef Yusoff Hamid and Big Apple Restuarant’s Chef de Cuisine Mazlee Rahman.
Always break the fast with some dates for its high level of natural sugars which converted into energy more quickly than any other nutrient.

The mind-boggling choices of kerabu~
Some of the must-try traditional Malay dishes.
I have a soft spot for bubur lambuk and I prefer mine with condiments of salted egg, fried anchovies, salted fish and fried onions.
Staple food such as Thai style Phad Thai, white rice and nasi briyani for a more substantial meal.
Lok-lok (skewers) also available at one of the stall outside the restaurant, featuring wide selection of item such as pacific clam, squid, prawn, salmon, vegetables, mushroom and meats.
Lamb Kuzi~ Always the quintessential dish for a Ramadan buffet. a well marinated whole lamb leg , roasted and glistening beautifully under warmer lights.
Lemang and ketupat with serunding and assorted curries.
Pizza laden bountifully with ingredients however the bread base was a tad too thick for my liking 😛
The grilling station.
Malaysian’s favourite hawker fare ~ satay
End on a high note with some local and international desserts, there is just a little something for everyone from young to the elders.
The lovely spread of colourful Malay kuih.
If local desserts do not tickle your fancy, check out the international spread of cakes, puddings, crepes, tarts, ice creams and more!
Cookies, cookies and more cookies!
Not forget to eat your fruits too!
Varieties of beverages and ABC!
