Celestial Dynasty 仙界中餐楼 @ Sec.19, P.j ~ RM5.00 Weekends Dim Sum Promotion!
In conjunction with the opening of the Celestial Dynasty 仙界中餐楼, Petaling Jaya’s latest Chinese banquet restaurant, diners can enjoy more than 25 steamy hot exquisite dim sum dishes with only RM5.00 nett per dish on weekend 11.00am till 3.00pm!
Took over the location previously occupied by Oriental Banquet, the restaurant remains its spaciousness. The long shape main dining hall is fully carpeted with bright elegant lighting. Round tables paired with draped chairs arranged neatly within the space, it’s certainly got all the checkmarks of a great place to dine in.
There are a few tastefully decorated private rooms as well for different functions and gatherings.
Siew Mai & Xiao Long Bao
Crystal Prawn Dumpling & White Cabbage Prawn Dumpling
Classic Dim Sum items such Siew Mai and prawn dumpling (Har Gao) were well executed. The Siew Mai with pork and shrimp filling was plump and bouncy, it proved to be decent and passed with all the markings of a respectable Siew Mai. The Har Gao on the other hand came with slightly thick crystal skin but the sweet cubes of prawn filling certainly guarantees satisfaction in every bite.
Bite into a soupy Xiao Long Bao, the meat filling encased in thin dumpling skin was moreish and well flavoured.
Char Siew Bun
Being one of my obligatory orders during dim sum session, the BBQ pork bun (Char Siew Bao) was passed with flying colours. Soft, fluffy bao skin encasing sweet savoury BBQ pork filling, one is definitely not enough, at least for me, hehe ^__*
Steamed Salted Egg Yolk Bun & Steamed Bean Curd Roll with Superior Oyster Sauce
Another favourite order of mine, the Steamed Salted Egg Yolk Bun never fails to please, especially when it’s made right with an explosion of hot lava flow of luscious salted egg yolk custard.
The Steamed Bean Curd Roll and just mediocre though.
Deep Fried Bean Curd Roll with Prawn
Between the deep fried and steamed version, I unquestionably sway towards the former. Freshly dried with utterly crispy bean curd sheet and succulent sweet prawn filling, another drool worthy on my dim sum list.
Pan Fried Shanghai Dumpling
Lightly crisp skin encasing juicy meaty filling, enjoy it with the vinegar and ginger for extra flavor.
Crispy Sesame Scallion Crepe
This strange looking dish is one of the chef’s recommendations inspired by Chinese scallion pancakes. The shatter-crisp crepe wrapped with aromatic and tasty scallion filling, I like the distinctive spice note of the scallion that lingered on my palate.
Fried Sesame Balls with Sweet Potato & Cheese
Never a fan of fried sesame balls as they usually come with red bean filling. Celestial Dynasty’s version with both my favourite ingredients of sweet potato and cheese (cheese was wrapped inside the sweet potato filling) certainly hit the spot and didn’t take long for me to gobble it up!
Other Dim Sum dishes in the promotion list including Steamed Glutinous Rice (Loh Mai Gai), Steamed Fish Dumpling, Steamed Pork Ribs with Yam, Phoenix Claw Sze-Chuan Style, Deep Fried Crispy Yam Puff, Pan Fried Radish Cakes, Pan Fried Fish Cakes with Celery, Deep Fried Prawn Meat with Jackfruit Roll, Rice Noodle Rolls, (Chee Cheong Fun), Minced Pork Porridge with Century Egg and etc. RM5.00 Weekends Dim Sum Promotion is charged per basket and available from 8th September 2018 until further notice.
Verdict: This RM5.00 Dim Sum promotion definitely a worthy deal. Food wise, the dim sum we tried were decent, nothing too fancy but some classic and hearty dishes that can please any Dim Sum lovers. The comfortable environment is a plus point.
